Types Of Intercession
Allah's Words: " to Allah belongs all intercession" Prove that intercession is of many different kinds and the scholars have mentioned eight of them:
1. Major Intercession: It is that which will fall upon the shoulders of the Prophet Muhammad after all the other Prophets and Messengers have refused to accept it on the Day of Resurrection: The people will ask all of the previous Prophets and Messengers to intercede with Allah on their behalf but they will refuse, saying: "Myself! Myself!" Then they will come to the Messenger of Allah , and he will accept, and go to his Rabb and prostrate before Him for as long as He wills, then he will be given permission to raise his head and intercede on behalf of the believing people, and none other than he shall be given this right and privilege.
2. Intercession for the People of Paradise: The Prophet’s [peace be upon him] intercession with Allah on behalf of the People of Paradise One Example:Muslim (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated (1528) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed for Abu Salamah and said: “O Allaah, forgive Abu Salamah and raise his status among those who are guided, and take good care of his family that he has left behind. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the Worlds, make his grave spacious for him and illuminate it for him
3. Intercession for the Disobedient Muslims: He will intercede with his Lord on behalf of those Muslims who may have committed sins of disobedience to their Rabb, Almighty, that they may not be placed in the Fire.
4. Intercession for the Disobedient People of Tawheed: He will intercede with Allah on behalf of those Muslims who have entered the
Hell-fire because of their sins, that they may be removed from it. The authentic narration concerning this has been widely reported and all of the
Companions and Ahl As-Sunnah are agreed upon it.
5. Intercession for Increasing the Reward of the People of Paradise: The Messenger of Allah will intercede on behalf of a people from amongst the People of Paradise, that they may have their reward increased and their status elevated; and there is none who disputes this. 6. Intercession of the Prophet for his Uncle: He will intercede on behalf of his uncle Abu Talib, that his punishment in the Hell-fire may be lightened.
7. Intercession of the Children: Those children who died while still below the age of reason will intercede on behalf of their believing parents.
8. Intercession of Some of the Believers for Others: It is authentically confirmed that some of the Believers will intercede on behalf of their believing brothers.
Allah Subhanawatala Commanded Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] To Pray For Muslims
24: 62 Only those are Believers who believe in Allah and His Apostle: when they are with him on a matter requiring collective action they do not depart until they have asked for his leave: those who ask for thy leave are those who believe in Allah and His Apostle; so when they ask for thy leave for some business of theirs give leave to those of them whom thou wilt and ask Allah for their forgiveness: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
3: 159 It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them. Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted they would have broken away from about thee; so pass over (their faults) and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then when thou hast taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).
60: 12 O Prophet! when believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah that they will not steal that they will not commit adultery (or fornication) that they will not kill their children that they will not utter slander intentionally forging falsehood and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter then do thou receive their fealty and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
2: 286 On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray): "Our Lord! condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; help us against those who stand against faith.
47: 19 Know therefore that there is no god but Allah and ask forgiveness for the fault and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes.
4: 64 We sent not an Apostle but to be obeyed in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only when they were unjust to themselves come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness and the Apostle had asked forgiveness for them they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning most Merciful.
Unbelievers Asked Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him To Pray For Their Forgiveness
48: 11 The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds and our families; do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah if His will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? but Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.
63: 5 And when it is said to them "Come the Apostle of Allah will pray for your forgiveness" they turn aside their heads and thou wouldst see them turning away their faces in arrogance.
6:It is equal to them whether thou pray for their forgiveness or not. Allah will not forgive them. Truly Allah guides not rebellious transgressors
9: 80 Whether thou ask for their forgiveness or not (their sin is unforgivable): if thou ask seventy times for their forgiveness Allah will not forgive them: because they have rejected Allah and His apostle; and Allah guideth not those who are perversely rebellious.
Prayer For Rain By Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
(a) Report of the Bedouin who said to the Holy Prophet:
We have come to you when even our virgins' milk is dry, and the mother worries for her own life over her child's, The child lets down his arms sitting still For hunger, a hunger unstilled and uninterrupted. We have nothing left from what our people eat Except bitter colocynth and camel-wool mixed with blood. And we have none but you to flee to, for where can people flee except to the Messengers?
Then the Prophet - upon him peace - stood up and he was dragging his garment. He climbed up the pulpit and said:"O Allah, send us water...." whereupon rain fell abundantly.
Then the Prophet upon him peace said: "If Abu Talib were alive he would have liked to see this. Who will recite for us what he said?" Hearing this, `Ali stood up and said: "Messenger of Allah, I think you mean his saying:A fair-skinned one by whose face rainclouds are sought, A caretaker for the orphans and protector of widows.
With him the clan of Hashim seek refuge from calamities, For they possess in him immense favor and grace....”
Narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Dala'il al-Nubuwwa (6:141) cf. Ibn Kathir, al-Bidaya wal-Nihaya (6:90-91) and Ibn Hajar, Fath al-Bari (1989 ed. 2:629).
*Note:When the Imam is asked to pray istisqa/prayer for seeking rain prayer, one must pray.
Send Peace on Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
33: 56 Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! send ye blessings on him and salute him with all respect.
Allah Subhanawatala Also Sends Peace On Prophet peace be upon him along With The Angels.
33:43 He it is Who sends blessings on you as do His angels that He may bring you out from the depths of Darkness into Light: and He is Full of Mercy to the Believers
Do Not Take My Grave For Festivity –Durud Will Be Presented To me
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 924 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Mas'ud
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: There is a mobile (squads) of Angels on Earth convey to me the blessings invoked upon me by my Ummah.
Transmitted by Nasa'i and Darimi.
In the Sunan of Abu Daawood and other from the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) that he said, "do not take my grave as a place of festivity and invoke prayers upon me wheresoever you may be for indeed they are conveyed to me."
Abu Daawood [Eng. Trans. 2/542 no. 2037] and it was declared saheeh by Al-Albaanee in Saheeh al-Jaami` [2/1211]
Prophets Are Alive An Their Graves & Earth Does’nt Consume Their Bodies.
Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat): Details of Commencing Prayer Dawud :: Book 3 : Hadith 1042 Narrated Aws ibn Aws:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Among the most excellent of your days is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the last trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made, so invoke more blessings on me that day, for your blessings will be submitted to me. The people asked: Apostle of Allah, how can it be that our blessings will be submitted to you while your body is decayed? He replied: Allah, the Exalted, has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets.
In the Sunan of Sa`eed bin Mansoor that Abdullaah bin Hasan bin Hasan bin [Alee bin] Abee Taalib
He is the noble, trustworthy and precise scholar. He died in the year 145H at the age of 75. Refer to 'Taqreeb at-Tahdheeb' [no. 3292]
- and he is from the most noble Hasans during the period of the tab`a taabi`een - that he saw a person frequenting the grave of the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) and said, "O person indeed the Messenger of Allaah said, "do not take my grave as a place of festivity and invoke prayers upon me wheresoever you may be for indeed they are conveyed to me." You and a person in Andulus are equivalent with regards to this."
In the Sunan of Abu Daawood and others from Aws bin Aws ath-Thaqafee that the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "frequent the salaah upon me on the day and night of Jumu`ah for indeed your salaah is presented to me." They said, 'O Messenger of Allaah how can our salaah be presented to you after you have passed away?' He replied, "indeed Allaah has forbidden the earth from eating the flesh of the Prophets."
{30} Reported by Abu Daawood [Eng. Trans. 1/269 no. 1042], ibn Maajah [1/524], Ahmad [4/2] and al-Haakim [1/278] who said, 'it is saheeh, meeting the criteria of Bukhaaree' and adh-Dhahabee agreed.
In an-Nasaa`ee and ibn Hibbaan and others from ibn Mas`ud from the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) that he said, "indeed Allaah has Angels roaming the earth who convey to me the salaam of my nation."
Reported by an-Nasaa`ee [2/43], ibn Hibbaan [2/134] and declared saheeh by al-Albaanee in 'Saheeh al-Jaami' [1/434]
We have been informed that the salaah and salaam reaches him from near and far through his saying, "send salaah upon me from wheresoever you may be for indeed your salaah is conveyed to me," and his saying, "do not take my grave as a place of festivity." Similarly the salaam reaches him from near and far as in his saying, "indeed Allaah has Angels roaming the earth who convey to me the salaam of my nation."
So when every Muslim says in his prayer, "peace be upon you O Prophet, and the blessings and mercy of Allaah" then this reaches him (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam).
The Companions and the Taabi`een knew that this salaam was better and more virtuous then the salaam said to him (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) at his grave to which he replied because the salaam said upon greeting is shared by the Muslims as occurs in the hadeeth, "there is not a person who passes by the grave of someone who he knew while alive except that Allaah returns his soul to him so that he may reply to the salaam."
A similar hadeeth is reported by al-Bayhaqee in 'ash-Shu`ab', ibn Abee ad-Dunya in 'al-Quboor', as-Saaboonee in 'al-Mi`atayn', ibn Abdul Barr in 'al-Istidhkaar' and 'at-Tamheed' and was declared saheeh by Abdul Haqq as mentioned by as-Suyutee in 'Sharh as-Sudoor' [pg. 84].
However the salaam through which one worships in the prayer, which in fact one has been commanded to say in prayer, is answered by Allaah tenfold whereas this other type of salaam that is said is answered by him (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) just as he would have answered during his lifetime.
All of the Companions used to send salaam upon him in every prayer and on some occasions used to go to him and extend the salaam to him. So the first salaam has been ordered by Allaah to be said in every prayer whereas the second type of salaam has only been legislated upon meeting him. The reward of the first type of salaam is greater because Allaah returns the salaam tenfold whereas only the Messenger answers the second type.
Angels pray for Forgiveness of Muslims
40: 7 Those who sustain the Throne (of Allah) and those around it sing Glory and Praise to their Lord; believe in Him; and implore forgiveness for those who believe: "Our Lord! Thy reach is over all things in Mercy and Knowledge. Forgive then those who turn in repentance and follow Thy Path: and preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire!
Ask Forgiveness For Yourself and For Parents
14: 41 "O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness me my parents and (all) Believers on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!"

I said: 'Half of my time?' He said: 'Whatever you wish; but it would be (still) better for you, if you were to increase it.' Then I said: 'Two-third of my time?' He said: 'As much you wish; but it would be (still) better for you if you were to increase it.' I said: 'Shall I devote all my time (supplications) to reciting Salat (benediction) on you? O you whom the One God has chosen for His creatures by planting in him perfection and purity of character!Narrated by Ibn `Abd al-Barr in al-Isti`ab (1:276) and Ibn Sayyid al-Nas in Minah al-Mad-h (p. 73).
Intercession Will Be Permitted On Judgement Day To Whom Allah Subhanawatala Permits.
20:109 On that Day shall no intercession avail except for those for whom permission has been granted by (Allah) Most Gracious and whose word is acceptable to Him.
34:23 "No intercession can avail in His Presence except for those for whom He has granted permission. So far (is this the case) that when terror is removed from their hearts (at the Day of Judgement then) will they say `What is it that your Lord commanded?' They will say `That which is true and just; and He is the Most High Most Great.' "
21:28 He knows what is before them and what is behind them and they offer no intercession except for those who are acceptable and they stand in awe and reverence of His (glory).
39:44 Say: "To Allah belongs exclusively (the right to grant) Intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: in the End it is to Him that ye shall be brought back."
53:26 How many so ever be the angels in the heavens their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.
19:86 And We shall drive the sinners to Hell like thirsty cattle driven down to water
87 None shall have the power of intercession but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from (Allah) Most Gracious.
2:255 Allah! there is no Allah but He the living the Self-subsisting Eternal. No slumber can seize him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to his creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of his knowledge except as He willeth. His throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. For He is the Most High the Supreme (in glory).
32:4 It is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth and all between them in six Days and is firmly established on the Throne (of authority): ye have none besides Him to protect or intercede (for you): will ye not then receive admonition?
Non Muslims Set Up Intecessors For Themselves .Those Were Just Their Fancies. There Is No Intercession As Per Their Thinking.
6:94 "And behold! ye come to Us bare and alone as We created you for the first time: Ye have left behind you all (the favors) which We bestowed on you: We see not with you your intercessors whom ye thought to be partners in your affairs: so now all relations between you have been cut off and your (pet) fancies have left you in the lurch!"
7:53 Do they just wait for the final fulfillment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled those who disregarded it before will say: "the apostles of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? Then should we behave differently from our behavior in the past." In fact they will have lost their souls and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch.
10:18 They serve besides Allah things that hurt them not nor profit them and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do ye indeed inform Allah of something He knows not in the heavens or on earth? Glory to Him! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!"
39:43 What! Do they take for intercessors others besides Allah? Say: "Even if they have no power whatever and no intelligence?"
74:47 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."
48 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them.
43:86 And those whom they invoke besides Allah have no power of intercession; only he who bears witness to the Truth and they know (him).
2:48 Then guard yourselves against a day when one soul shall not avail another nor shall intercession be accepted for her nor shall compensation be taken from her nor shall anyone be helped (from outside).
2:123 Then guard yourselves against a day when one soul shall not avail another nor shall compensation be accepted from her nor shall intercession profit her nor shall anyone be helped (from outside).
2:254 O ye who believe! spend out of (the bounties) We have provided for you before the day comes when no bargaining (will avail) nor friendship nor intercession. Those who reject faith they are the wrong-doers.
36:23 "Shall I take (other) gods besides Him? If (Allah) Most Gracious should intend some adversity for me of no use whatever will be their intercession for me nor can they deliver me.
26:99 " `And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt.
100 " `Now then we have none to intercede (for us)
Supplication Is Itself Worship
"And the mosques are for Allaah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allaah"[al-Jinn 72:18]
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2232 Narrated byAnas ibn Malik
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Supplication is the pith of worship."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1474 Narrated byAn-Nu'man ibn Bashir
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Supplication (du'a') is itself the worship. (He then recited:) "And your Lord said: Call on Me, I will answer you" (xI.60).
7:180. And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names. They will be requited for what they used to do.
40:60. And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islâmic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islâmic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!"
7:29. Say (O Muhammad SAW): My Lord has commanded justice and (said) that you should face Him only (i.e. worship none but Allâh and face the Qiblah, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah during prayers) in each and every place of worship, in prayers (and not to face other false deities and idols), and invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him by not joining in worship any partner to Him and with the intention that you are doing your deeds for Allâh's sake only. As He brought you (into being) in the beginning, so shall you be brought into being (on the Day of Resurrection) [in two groups, one as a blessed one (believers), and the other as a wretched one (disbelievers)].
7:23. They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers."
Oneness, Uniqueness of Allah (Tawheed) Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 93 :: Hadith 502 Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.' "
Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat): Detailed Injunctions about Witr Dawud :: Book 8 : Hadith 1490 Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
I was sitting with the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and a man was offering prayer. He then made supplication: O Allah, I ask Thee by virtue of the fact that praise is due to Thee, there is no deity but Thou, Who showest favour and beneficence, the Originator of the Heavens and the earth, O Lord of Majesty and Splendour, O Living One, O Eternal One.
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) then said: He has supplicated Allah using His Greatest Name, when supplicated by this name, He answers, and when asked by this name He gives.
Invocation Permitted
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 6565 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) used to supplicate (in these words): "O Allah, set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs. And set right for me the affairs of my world wherein is my living. And set right for me my Hereafter on which depends my after-life. And make the life for me (a source) of abundance for every good and make my death a source of comfort for me protecting me against every evil."
*Note:This is a Dua which Rasool Allah/Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam used to supplicate,Muslims are also supposed to supplicate for their well being in life and after death .
Taking Graves As Places Of Worship Is Sinful
9:31"They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allaah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allaah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Tawraat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] to worship none but One Ilaah (God - Allaah) Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Praise and glory be to Him (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)."
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.213 Narrated byAisha
Um Habiba and Um Salama mentioned a church they had seen in Ethiopia and in the church there were pictures. When they told the Prophet of this, he said, "Those people are such that if a pious man amongst them died, they build a place of worship over his grave and paint these pictures in it. Those people will be Allah's worst creatures on the Day of Resurrection."
"They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and monks to be their lords besides Allaah, and they also took the Messiah son of Mary (to be their Lord) while they were commanded to worship none save One God. Glory be to Him (far above is He) from having the partners they associate." [at-Tawbah (9): 31]
*Note:Jews and Christians supplicated to their rabbis and monks .Christians worshipped Isa alai salaam also. They Built places of worship over graves of pious people.
*Note:Supplication is itself worship
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 9.421 Narrated byAbu Huraira
The Prophet said, "The Hour will not be established till my followers copy the deeds of the previous nations and follow them very closely, span by span, and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch)." It was said, "O Allah's Apostle! Do you mean by those (nations) the Persians and the Byzantines?" The Prophet said, "Who can it be other than they?"
*Note:On Sufi’s & Shia’s this prophesy is fulfilled in matters of building places of worship over graves of pious people.

Rows Of Muslims In Funeral Prayer
A hadith does say the following: Funerals (Kitab Al-Jana'iz) Dawud :: Book 20 : Hadith 3160 Narrated Malik ibn Hubayrah:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: If any Muslim dies and three rows of Muslims pray over him, it will assure him (of Paradise). When Malik considered those who accompanied a bier to be a few, he divided them into three rows in accordance with this tradition.
Forbiddence Of Building Places Of Worship
18:21 Thus did We make their case known to the people that they might know that the promise of Allah is true and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said "Construct a building over them": their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said "Let us surely build a place of worship over them."
*Note:1.Tafsir Ibn Kathir says- they said: "Construct a building over them; their Lord knows best about them,'' meaning, seal the door of their cave over them, and leave them as they are. Those who won their point said: "We verily, shall build a place of worship over them.'' Those who said this were the people of power and influence.Further he says: Allah has cursed the Jews and the Christians who took the graves of their Prophets and righteous people as places of worship) Warning against what they did. We have reported about the Commander of the faithful `Umar bin Al-Khattab that when he found the grave of Danyal (Daniel) in Iraq during his period of rule, he gave orders that news of this grave should be withheld from the people, and that the inscription containing mention of battles etc., that they found there should be buried.
Tafsir Jalalayn-And so, just as We aroused them, it was that We disclosed them, [to] their people and the believers, that they, that is, their people, might know that God’s promise, of resurrection, is true: by virtue of the fact that One Who has the power to make them sleep for [such] a long period of time, or sustain them in that state without nourishment, also has the power to resurrect the dead; and that, as for the Hour, there is no doubt, no uncertainty, concerning it. Behold (idh adverbially qualifies a‘tharnā, ‘We disclosed’) they were disputing, that is, the believers and the disbelievers, among themselves their affair, the affair of the youths, with regard to building something around them [as a monument]; so they, the disbelievers, said, ‘Build over them, that is, around them, a building, to cover them up; their Lord knows them best.’ Those who prevailed regarding their affair, the affair of the youths, namely, the believers, ‘We will verily set up over them, around them, a place of worship’, for prayers to be performed therein. And this indeed took place at the entrance of the cave.
Tafsir Abbas - (And in like manner We disclosed them (to the people of the city)) the city of Ephesus, the believers among them and the disbelievers, and their king of the time was a believer called Yustafad, the king Decius had died long before that (that they might know) both the believers and disbelievers (that the promise of Allah) resurrection after death (is true) takes place, (and that, as for the Hour, there is no doubt concerning it. When (the people of the city) disputed of their case among themselves) when their words differed among themselves, (they said) i.e. the disbelievers said: (Build over them a building) a church because they are followers of our religion; (their Lord knoweth best concerning them. Those who won their point said) those whose argument did not prevail, i.e. the believers: (We verily shall build a place of worship over them) because they are followers of our religion; their difference being about this point.
4: Sahih Muslim vol. 2 Hadith No. 2114 (also see 2115)] I heard the messenger of Allaah(saws)commanding (us) to level the grave. 'Abdullaah Ibn Sharjeel Hasanah said: "I saw ‘Uthmaan Ibn‘Affaan order the leveling of the graves. So it was said to him: 'This is the grave ofUmm ‘Amr the daughter of ‘Uthmaan!' However, he commanded that it too should beleveled."[Related by Ibn Abee Shaybah in al-Musannaf (4/138) and Aboo Zur‘ah in at-Taareekh(22/2) with an authentic chain of narrators]
5: It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim vol. 2 pp 459-60, No. 2116-2118 “Jabir said : “Allaah’sMessenger(saws) forbade that the graves should be plastered or, they be used assitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them”
Burying A Person Inside A Building Is Allowed ,As Sahaba/Companions Were Buried Near Rasool Allah salla lahu aialihi wa sallam But To build over a grave is not allowed. These are two dirrefent things and must be understood clearly
Prophets Are buried Where They Die
Malik :: Book 16 : Hadith 16.10.27 Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, died on Monday and was buried on Tuesday and people prayed over him individually with no one leading them. Some people said that he would be buried near the mimbar, and others said that he would be buried in al-Baqi. Abu Bakr as-Siddiq came and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'No prophet was ever buried except in the place where he died.' "So a grave was dug for him there. When he was about to be washed they wished to take off his shirt but they heard a voice saying "Don't take off his shirt," so they did not take off his shirt and he was washed with it on, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
Ummul Mumineen Did Feared That Prophet’s Grave May BeTaken As Mosque
Book 004, Number 1079:(Sahi Muslim)'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said during his illness from which he never recovered: Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians that they took the graves of their prophets as mosques. She ('A'isha) reported: Had it not been so, his (Prophet's) grave would have been in an open place, but it could not be due to the fear that it may not be taken as a mosque.
Burials
*Note:That is why the grave was in open place
Reconstructing Is Allowed
Volume 2, Book 23, Number 474: Narrated 'Urwa: When the wall fell on them (i.e. graves) during the caliphate of Al-Walid bin 'Abdul Malik, the people started repairing it, and a foot appeared to them. The people got scared and thought that it was the foot of the Prophet. No-one could be found who could tell them about it till I ('Urwa) said to them, "By Allah, this is not the foot of the Prophet but it is the foot of Umar." Aisha narrated that she made a will to 'Abdullah bin Zubair, "Do not bury me with them (the Prophet and his two companions) but bury me with my companions (wives of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ) in Al-Baqi as I would not like to be looked upon as better than I really am (by being buried near the Prophet)."
*Note: Reconstructing is allowed,if a person is buried inside a building then reconstructing any damaged part of the building is allowed, but building /constructing over a grave in which is not inside a building is not allowed.
Sahaba/Companions Were Buried Inside The House
Holding Fast to the Qur'an and Sunnah Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 92 :: Hadith 428 Narrated Hisham's father:
'Aisha said to 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair, "Bury me with my female companions (i.e. the wives of the Prophet) and do not bury me with the Prophet in the house, for I do not like to be regarded as sanctified (just for being buried there).''
Narrated Hisham's father: 'Umar sent a message to 'Aisha, saying, "Will you allow me to be buried with my two companions (the Prophet and Abu Bakr) ?" She said, "Yes, by Allah." though it was her habit that if a man from among the companions (of the Prophet ) sent her a message asking her to allow him to be buried there, she would say, "No, by Allah, I will never give permission to anyone to be buried with them."
Hadith Against Grave Worshipping/Grave Intercession
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 2.472 Narrated byAisha
Allah's Apostle in his fatal illness said, "Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians, for they built the places of worship at the graves of their prophets." And if that had not been the case, then the Prophet's grave would have been made prominent before the people. So (the Prophet ) was afraid, or the people were afraid that his grave might be taken as a place for worship.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 2.425 Narrated byAisha
When the Prophet became ill, some of his wives talked about a church which they had seen in Ethiopia and it was called Mariya. Um Salma and Um Habiba had been to Ethiopia, and both of them narrated its (the Church's) beauty and the pictures it contained. The Prophet raised his head and said, "Those are the people who, whenever a pious man dies amongst them, make a place of worship at his grave and then they make those pictures in it. Those are the worst creatures in the Sight of Allah."
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 9.422 Narrated byAbu Said Al Khudri
The Prophet said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Apostle! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?
The Understanding Of The Pious Ahlul Bayt
Ali Ibn Husain (Zainul-Aabideen) saw a man supplicating near the grave of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam). He forbade him (the man) from it and said, “Should I not relate to you what I heard from my father (and he) from my grandfather (and he) from Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam), 'Do not take my grave as a place of festivity and invoke blessings upon me wherever you are, for your blessings will reach me.” [ Abu Dawood]
“Pray in your houses, and do not make them graveyards.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee (Eng. trans.) vol.2, p.156, no.280, Saheeh Muslim (Eng.trans.) vol.1, p.376, no.1704]
Imaam Qurtubi says “Therefore, the Muslims went to great lengths to block the tendency to do so at the grave of the Prophet (saws). They raised the dirt walls around it high, completely surrounding it and blocking off the entrances to it. Then they feared that the location of his grave might be turned into a direction for prayer, because it was in the direction the worshippers face and some of them might get the idea that facing it was an act of worship. For this reason, they built two walls at the northern corners of the grave and placed them at a slant so that they would form a triangle with on of its corners pointing to the North. In this way, no one could be able to directly face the grave while making his prayer. “[Al-Qurtubî, al-Mufhim lima Ashkal min Talkis Kitâb Muslim (2/128)]
Ibn hajar al haythami al Makki (d.974 H) says:”The biggest means for shirk is praying near graves and making them into places of worship .It is obligatory to eliminate the prohibited actions that occur at graves and tombs and as for the tombs and shrines that have been erected over graves then they should be destroyed as quickly as possible because the Messenger of Allaah (Sallalahu Alayhee Was-Sallam) forbade this and ordered the leveling of graves. Hence all forms of lights, candles and others should be abolished, and it is not correct to offer sacrifices and vows at such places. Lighting candles on the graves, making them into idols, making tawaaf of them and PRAYING TOWARDS THEM are all major sins….” [pg 125-126 ,Kitaab az-Zawaajir]
He goes on to say “These tombs and shrines are worse than MasjiduDirar and the ones who built them have innovated a new religion with no authority from Allah and his messenger and no scholar can permit it since the prohibition is clear from the messenger of Allah”
Interceding For Eachother In Prayers
Did Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him asked waseela from dead? NO ! Thought he told Umar r.a to pray for him.
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1493 Narrated byUmar ibn al-Khattab
I sought permission of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to perform umrah. He gave me permission and said: My younger brother, do not forget me in your supplication. He (Umar) said: He told me a word that pleased me so much so that I would not have been pleased if I were given the whole world. The narrator Shu'bah said: I then met Asim at Medina. He narrated to me this tradition and reported the wordings: "My younger brother, share me in your supplication."
*Note:Interceding for each other in prayers is permitted,Prophet Muhammad [sale allahu alaihi wa salaam] asked Omar [r.a] to pray for him.
Send Peace On The Grave Occupants
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 482 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to the graveyard and said: Peace be upon you! The abode of the believing people; and we, if God so wills, are about to join you. I love to see my brothers. They (the hearers) said: Aren't we your brothers, Messenger of Allah? He said: You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have not, so far, come into the world. They said: Messenger of Allah, how would you recognize those persons of your Ummah who have not yet been born? He said: Supposing a man had horses with white blazes on their foreheads, and white socks among horses which were all black, tell me, would he not recognize his own horses? They said: Certainly, Messenger of Allah. He said: They will come with white faces, arms and legs, owing to ablution, and I shall arrive at the Cistern before them. Some people will be driven away from my Cistern as the stray camel is driven away. I shall call out: Come, come. Then it will be said (to me): These people changed after you, and I shall say: Be off, be off.
*Note:Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is not omnipresent ,nor is he aware of everything ummah is going through.when muslims send peace and invoke blessings on Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him ,angels convey them to the prophet and he is aware of that which angels convey
Intercedeing For The Forgiveness Of The Dead
Praying for the Muslims who died [Funeral Salat/prayer is obligatory] and also praying for their forgiveness at grave side is permitted. But forbidden for non-muslims as they rejected Islam.
9:84 Nor do thou ever pray for any of them that dies nor stand at his grave: for they rejected Allah and His apostle and died in a state of perverse rebellion.
9:80 Whether thou ask for their forgiveness or not (their sin is unforgivable): if thou ask seventy times for their forgiveness Allah will not forgive them: because they have rejected Allah and His apostle; and Allah guideth not those who are perversely rebellious.
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 2071 Narrated byAisha
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: If a company of Muslims numbering one hundred pray over a dead person, all of them interceding for him, their intercession for him will be accepted.
Seeking Forgiveness For The Deceased By The Graveside
Q.Is it permissible to stand by the graveside and seek forgiveness and supplicate for the deaceased after burying him, and (likewise) to place/throw sand/earth over the grave?
Answer:Yes, it is permisisble to stand by the graveside after burying the deceased, and (likewise) to place/throw sand/earth over the grave and seek forgiveness and supplicate for him. Rather, this is recommended, as Abu Daawood transmits and al-Haakim authenticates on the authority of 'Uthmaan (radhi-yallaahu 'anhu) who narrated that: When the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) completed burying the deceased he used to stand by him (the graveside) and say:
((Seek forgiveness for your brother, and beg steadfastness for him, for he will be questioned now)).
And with Allaah lies all the success, and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet Muhammad (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) and his family and his companions.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 458; Muslim, 956).
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that a black man or a black woman used to clean the mosque, and he (or she) died. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked about him and they said, “He died.” He said, “Why did you not tell me? Show me to his grave (or her grave).” So he went to the grave and offered the funeral prayer.
*Note:Praying in the graveyard – apart from the funeral (janaazah) prayer – this prayer is invalid and does not count, whether it is an obligatory prayer or a naafil prayer.
9:84 Nor do thou ever pray for any of them that dies nor stand at his grave: for they rejected Allah and His apostle and died in a state of perverse rebellion.
Asking For Blessings On The Prophet And Companions
Hadith from Malik Muwatta Book: 9 Hadith: 71
Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah ibn Dinar said,"I saw Abdullah ibn Umar stop by the grave of the
Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and ask for blessings on the Prophet, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, and ask for blessings on the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and on Abu Bakr and Umar.
*Note:Asking blessings for the grave occupants.
Further Study On The Conditions Of The Deceased
Abu Dawud (Kitab al-Jana'iz) narrates that Aishah, radi Allahu `anh, said that when al-Najashi (the pious King of Abyssinia) had passed away, the Sahabah reported that there was LIGHT shining from his grave (yura ala Qabrihi Nur). He was not even a Sahabi but it was believed that he was a Wali. Thus, if the Sahabah believed that the Awliya can have Nur (light) and blessings at their Qubur.
*Note:There is blessing in graves and punishments depending on the deeds of the person. The pious are blessed in graves. In another Sahih Hadith narrated by Ibn Hanbal, Hakim and Tabarani, Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, saw a person sitting on a Qabr and told him: "Do not harm the person in the Qabr and he will not harm you."(la tu'zi sahib al-Qabri wala yu'zeek).
*Note[:He will harm you means disrespect of occupant of the grave will be punishmed by Allah subhanawatala. Sahih Muslim Hadith 2121 Narrated byAbuMarthad al-Ghanawi -Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Do not sit on the graves and do not pray facing towards them.]
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal narrates that before Sayyidina Umar was buried in her room, Sayyidah Aishah would go there without Hijab (head Covering), as the Prophet (s.a.w) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, who were buried there were her Husband and Father. However, when Sayyiduna Umar got buried there, she would only go in the room with Hijab. (check Mishkat al-Masabih: Bab Ziyarat al-Qubur).*Note:This Action Clearly Shows That There Are Etiquettes For Visting Graves & Dead can see near their graves.
"Amr bin Aas (r.a) said. When I die, let neither female mourner nor fire accompany me. When you bury me, fill my grave well with earth, then stand around it for the time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may enjoy your intimacy and (in your company) ascertain what answer I can give to the messengers (angels) of Allah.[Sahih Muslim #220]
*Note:1 This Action Clearly Shows That the dead feel the presence of living.
*Note:2 The Book Pertaining to Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties and Its Intimates (Kitab Al-Jannat wa Sifat Na'imiha wa Ahliha) Muslim :: Book 40 : Hadith 6862 Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) having said: When the servant is placed in his grave and his companions retrace their steps arid HE HEARS THE NOISE OF THE FOOTSTEPS, then two angels come to him and make him sit and say to him: What you have to say about this person (the Holy Prophet)? If he is a believer, he would say: I bear testimony to the fact that he is a servant of Allali and His Messenger. Then it would be said to him: Look to your seat in the Hell- Fire, for Allah has substituted (the seat of yours) with a seat in Paradise. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He would be shown both the seats. Qatada said: It was mentioned to us that his grave (the grave of a believer) expands to seventy cubits and is full with verdure until the Day when they would be resurrected.
What can benefit the deceased after his death? Can he hear what the living say?
Allah subhanawatala can make whom he wills to hear.
When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) addressed the slain kuffaar (disbelievers) after the Battle of Badr, Allaah caused them to hear his words, although they were at the bottom of the well in which they had been buried. (See Al-Aayaat al-Bayyinaat fi ‘adam Samaa’ al-Amwaat).
*Note:Dead can hear.
Actions on the part of the living may benefit the dead, and what may reach them in their graves. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind), or a righteous child who will pray for him." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376; he said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth)
The most important thing that will benefit your father after his death, and that you can do for him now that he is in his grave, is to strive to pray for him and ask for forgiveness and mercy for him, and for Paradise and salvation from the Fire, and other good and beautiful du’aa’s (prayers).
Prayers for forgiveness offered by both sons and daughters of the deceased bring great benefits, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "A man’s status will be raised in Paradise and he will ask, ‘How did I get here?’ He will be told, ‘By your son’s du’aa’s (prayers) for forgiveness for you." (Reported by Ibn Maajah, no 3660; see also Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1617)
Another thing that may reach the deceased is sadaqah (charity) given on his behalf, because ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) reported that a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): "My mother has passed away, and if she could have spoken, she would have given something in charity. Will she receive a reward if I give something on her behalf?" He said, "Yes." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, Fath, 1388)
Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the mother of Sa’d ibn ‘Ubaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) died when he was away from her. He said: "O Messenger of Allaah, my mother has died and I am away from her. Will it benefit her anything if I give in charity on her behalf?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Then I ask you to be my witness that I am giving my garden al-Mikhraaf (so called because it bore so many dates) in charity on her behalf." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, Fath, 2756)
Abu Hurayrah reported that a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): "My father has died and left money behind. He did not make a wasiyyah (a will); will it expiate for his sins if I give some of it in charity on his behalf?" He said, "Yes." (Reported by al-Nisaa’i)
Sa’d ibn ‘Ubaadah said: "I said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, my mother has died. Should I give charity on her behalf?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I asked, ‘What kind of charity is best?’ He said, ‘Providing water.’" (Reported by al-Nisaa’i)
Other deeds that may also benefit the deceased are Hajj and ‘Umrah on their behalf, after the living person has first performed Hajj and ‘Umrah on his or her own behalf.
‘Abdullaah ibn Buraydah reported that his father (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: "While I was sitting with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), a woman came to him and said: ‘I gave my mother a slave-woman in charity, and now my mother has died.’ He said: ‘You have got your reward, and your right of inheritance has brought your gift back to you.’ She said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, she still had one month to fast – can I fast it on her behalf?’ He said, ‘Fast it on her behalf.’ She said, ‘She never went to Hajj – can I perform Hajj on her behalf?’ He said, ‘Perform Hajj on her behalf.’" (Reported by Muslim, may Allaah have mercy on him, in his Saheeh, no. 1149)
This shows that it is also permissible to fast on behalf of the deceased.
Another thing that may benefit the deceased is to fulfil their nadhr (vow), because Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) reported that a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: "My mother made a vow to perform Hajj but she died before she could do it. Can I perform Hajj on her behalf?" He said, "Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. Don’t you think that if your mother owed a debt you would pay it off?" She said, "Yes." He said, "Then pay off what is owed to Allaah, for Allaah is more deserving of having vows fulfilled." (al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 7315)
Another thing that may benefit the deceased is if his relative devotes a share to him of a sacrifice he offers. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) offered a sacrifice, he said: "In the name of Allaah, O Allaah, on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad" (reported by Muslim, no. 1967) – and the family of Muhammad included both the living and the dead.
What is the Sharee'ah ruling in gathering people to read the Book of Allaah with the intention that the benefit of the recitation returns to the one who initiated the gathering or someone who is deceased?
Answer-Gathering people to read book of Allah after the death is an innovation but the benefits of recitation are forwarded to the deceased. No people gather in a house of the houses of Allah reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves except that serenity descends upon them, mercy envelops them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them to those with Him.” [Tirmidhi (1345), Abu Dawud (1243), Ibn Maja (221), Ahmad (7118), and others]
Allah knows best.
It is recommended to conclude supplications with Salah upon the Prophet .At-Tirmidhi recorded that `Umar bin Al-Khattab said: "A supplication remains suspended between heaven and earth and does not ascend any further until you send Salah upon your Prophet.'' This was also narrated by Mu`adh bin Al-Harith from Abu Qurrah from Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib from `Umar, as a saying of the Prophet . It was also recorded by Razin bin Mu`awiyah in his book, where he also attributed it to the Prophet reporting that he said:(A supplication remains suspended between heaven and earth and does not ascend any further until a person sends Salah on me. Do not treat me like a spare water container, send Salah upon me at the beginning of your supplication, at the end and in the middle.) hSending Salah upon the Prophet is even more strongly encouraged in the Qunut supplication.

5:35. O you who believe! Do your duty to Allâh and fear Him. Seek the means of approach to Him, and strive hard in His Cause as much as you can. So that you may be successful.
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs { يَا أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱبْتَغُوۤاْ إِلَيهِ ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ وَجَاهِدُواْ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ }(O ye who believe!) in Muhammad and the Qur'an (Be mindful of your duty to Allah) regarding that which He has commanded you, (and seek the way of approach unto Him) seek the highest rank; it is also said that this means: seek with Him high degrees through righteous works, (and strive in His way) in His obedience (in order that ye may succeed) so that you escape His wrath and torment and so that you attain to faith.
Volume 8, Book 76, Number 509: Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Allah said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him."
*Note:Explanation: If the Muslim does the obligatory acts that Allaah has enjoined upon him, then he strives to draw closer to Allaah by doing naafil (supererogatory) acts of worship and persists in that as much as he can, then Allaah will love him and will help him in all that he does or does not do. So when he hears he will be guided by Allaah with regard to what he hears, and he will not hear anything but what is good, and he will not accept anything but the truth, and falsehood will be kept away from him, by the help and support of Allaah. So he will see the truth as truth and falsehood as falsehood, and when he strikes anything he will strike with power from Allaah, so his strike will be like a strike from Allaah in support of the truth. And when he walks he will be walking in obedience to Allaah, seeking knowledge, striving in jihad for the sake of Allaah. To sum up, all that he does, both inwardly and outwardly, will be guided and supported by Allaah.
Hence it becomes clear that there is nothing in this hadeeth to indicate that Allaah is “incarnated” in His creation or that He becomes one with any of them. This is shown by the words at the end of the hadeeth, where Allaah says: “Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it.” According to some reports, He also said, “So by My help he hears and by My help he sees…” This explains what is meant at the beginning of the hadeeth, and it clearly demonstrates that there is one who asks and One Who is asks, one who seeks refuge and One Who grants refuge [i.e., two separate entities]. This hadeeth is similar to another hadeeth qudsi: “Allaah says: ‘O My slave, I fell sick and you did not visit Me…’” In both cases, the latter part of the hadeeth explains the first part, but those who are led by their whims and desires follow the ambiguous texts and ignore the clear and unambiguous texts, and so they go astray.
Seeking Intercession Of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam
4: 64 We sent not an Apostle but to be obeyed in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only when they were unjust to themselves come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness and the Apostle had asked forgiveness for them they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning most Merciful.
Sayings of Imams:very important
Imam MalikImam Malik’s prominence as one of the four jurists of Islam is well-established. Once Caliph Abu Ja‘far Mansur visited Medina and he asked Imam Malik: ‘while supplicating, should I turn my face to the prayer niche [and turn my back to the Holy Prophet ( or should I turn my face to the Holy Prophet [() and turn my back to the prayer niche]?’ On this interrogation, Imam Malik replied: ‘(O caliph!) Why do you turn your face from the Holy Prophet (), as he is the means for you and for your ancestor Adam () on the Day of Judgement? Rather you should (pray and supplicate by) turning towards the Prophet () and seek his intercession so that he intercedes for you before Allah on the Day of Judgement. Allah has declared:
(O beloved!) And if they had come to you, when they had wronged their souls, and asked forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger also had asked forgiveness for them, they (on the basis of this means and intercession) would have surely found Allah the Granter of repentance, extremely Merciful.
This incident has been narrated by Qadi ‘Iyad in his ash-Shifa (2:596) with a sound chain of transmission. Besides, it has been related by a number of other traditionists of impeccable credibility. Subki in Shifa’-us-siqam fi ziyarat khayr-il-anam, Samhudi in
*Note:Its all abt judgement day,ask Allah , intercession of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam so that he intercedes on judgement day.

Hadith on Seeking Prophet Muhammad’s [peace be upon him]Intercession On Judgement Day
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 1.588 Narrated byJabir bin Abdullah
Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever after listening to the Adhan says, 'Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da' watit-tammati was-salatil qa'imati, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilata, wab' athhu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa' adtahu (O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (of not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established! Kindly give Muhammad the right of intercession and superiority and send him (on the Day of Judgment) to the best and the highest place in Paradise which You promised him)', then intercession for me will be permitted for him on the Day of Resurrection)."
Imam Qurtubi in his famous exegesis al-Jami‘ li-ahkam-il-Qur’an (5:265-6) has related another happening similar to ‘Utbi’s tradition. He says:“Abu Sadiq has reported it from ‘Ali. A villager came to see us three days after the burial of the Holy Prophet . He placed himself near the Prophet’s grave, sprinkled its earth over his body and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you said and we have heard from you. You received commands from Allah and we received commands from you, and one of these divine commands is wa law annahum idh zalamu anfusahum. It is true that I have wronged myself, therefore, you should pray for my forgiveness. ’ (In response to the villager’s act of imploring) he was called out from the grave: ‘there is no doubt that you have been forgiven.’”
Muhammad bin ‘Alawi al-Maliki has reproduced these two occurrences in his book Mafahim yajib an tusahhah (pp.157-8) and then offered a sizzling review which is quite relevant to our context. He writes, “This episode has been reproduced by Imam Nawawi in the sixth chapter of his famous book al-Idah, Abu al-Faraj bin Qudamah in his book ash-Sharh-ul-kabir and Mansur bin Yunus al-Buhuti in his book Kashshaf-ul-qina‘ which is a popular book in Hambali school of thought.”
*Note: The sanad of the hadith! In "Alsarm Al manki" this narration is a lie and fabrication! This is self made narration! The chain consists of a narrator " Haisham bin Adi" about whom Yahya bin munir has said that he is a lier! Abu dawood said the same. Abu hatim Razi, Nissai and Azdi said that he is "Matrook Alhadith" .. Imam Bukhari said people left him! His maid said that "My master used to pray the whole night and speak lie in morning in the gathering". As for this part:“Abu Sadiq has reported it from ‘Ali."Abu Sadiq Sam'a(meeting) with the Ali is not proved!!
Ibn-e-Kathir on An-Nisa 4:64
Excerpts:
And He (i.e. Allah) says:“If they, when they were unjust to themselves”. In this verse Allah instructs the sinners and wrong-doers that when they commit a mistake or a sin, they should come to the Prophet and then seek Allah’s forgiveness near Him , and ask Him to seek forgiveness for them (i.e for the sinners). Verily when they would do this act, then Allah would accept their forgiveness and would confer His blessings on them, and would forgive them.
Note:Certainly when prophet was alive ,such was the procedure .they used to come to him and used to tell him to pray for their forgiveness
Continued from above -Ibn-e-Kathir’s Tafsir
And for this reason He (Allah) has said:Indeed, they would have found Allah All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” And verily a group of scholars (i.e. many scholars) have narrated the famous account and from them Ash-Sheikh Abu Mansoor As-Sabagh has narrated it in his book [“Ash-Shamil”. In it Hazrat Utba (RA) said: I was sitting near the grave of the Prophet (SAW) when an Arabi came and said: “Salam Be on You, the Prophet of Allah”, I have heard that Allah has said (in Quran) “If they, when they were unjust to themselves, had come to you and begged Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had begged forgiveness for them, indeed, they would have found Allah All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
*Note:hence it means , verily I have come seeking forgiveness for my sin and seeking your shifaat (recommendation) towards Allah.
Continued from above- Ibn-e-Kathir’s Tafsir
Then the Arabi went away. Then my eyes became burdened (because of sleep) and I saw the Prophet in my dream saying: “O Utba (RA), catch that Arabi and deliver him the news that Allah has verily forgiven him.”
*Note: Allah has forgiven him ,Allah forgives whoever he wills, the the arabi was seeking forgviness and wanted prophet's intecession .Allah forgave him.hence it was a true dream
Continued from above -Ibn-e-Kathir’s Tafsir
Then he started (reciting the following verses of poetry:
the one who is the best among all the buried ones, (resting) on the greatest bed
(And) who is more pleasant than the pleasantest things resting in hiddenMay myself be sacrificed on this grave where you live!
In it (i.e. in this grave) is the forgiveness and in it is the generosity and honor he above is not a naat[song] but a poem, poetry is allowed in Islam.
Imam abu Hanifa (RA)
al-Imam Abu Hanifah reported in his Musnad, Kitab al-Haj, from Nafi' from 'Umar (ra) that of the supererogatory practices is that you approach the grave of the Prophet (saws) from the direction of the qiblah, turn your back to the qiblah, face the grave with your face and then say: "Peace be upon you, O
Prophet, and the Mercy and Blessings of Allah."
Imam Shaa'faiee states:
"I gain the blessings from the grave Imam Abu Hanifa and whenever I get into trouble, then I offer two rakats and then I visit his grave, and pray their for the solution, and ALHAMDO LILLAH my needs are always fulfilled." (Al-Khairatul Hassan Vol 1 Page 38, Tareekh
*Note:It means ,Allah this grave is blessed and bless me also,he prayed 2 rakat not near grave but elsewhere, but later vistied the grave, prayed to Allah to bless Abu hanifa and after that asked Allah to fulfill his needs.
Tabbaruk Of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
"In the year 17 `Umar enlarged the Prophetic mosque. That year there was a drought in the Hijaz. It was named the Year of Cinders (`am al-ramada). `Umar prayed for rain for the people by means of al-`Abbas. Ibn Sa`d narrated from [the Sahabi] Niyar al-Aslami that when `Umar came came out to pray for rain, he came out wearing the cloaks (burd) of the Messenger of Allah, upon him blessings and peace]
Al-Suyuti mentions the context of this event in his Tarikh al-Khulafa' (Beirut, 1992 Ahmad Fares ed. p. 140):
*Note: Tabarruk": deriving blessing from something once owned or touched by prophet Muhammad peace be upon him .also. "Athar": relics :is allowed in Islam.
Importance of Relics Of Musa[moses] alai salaam and Aaron[haroon]alai salaam is mentioned in Quran
2:248. And their Prophet (Samuel <><>) said to them: Verily! The sign of His Kingdom is that there shall come to you At-Tâbût (a wooden box), wherein is Sakinah (peace and reassurance) from your Lord and a remnant of that which Musâ (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron) left behind, carried by the angels. Verily, in this is a sign for you if you are indeed believers.
Asking Prophet Muhammad Salla lahu aalihi wa sallam to pray to Allah is Allowed Whether near His Grave
A Man Went To Grave Of Prophet peace be upon him
Sahabi Bilal ibn al-Harith as narrated in two versions:(a) Version 1 From the Sahabi Malik al-Dar:
The people suffered a drought in `Umar's khilafa, whereupon a man came to the grave of the Prophet sallAllahu `alayhi wa-Alihi wa-Sallam and said: "Messenger of Allah! Ask for rain for your Community, for verily they have but perished." After this the Prophet appeared to him in a dream and told him: "Go to `Umar and give him my greeting, then tell him that they will be watered. Tell him: Be clever!" The man went and told `Umar. The latter wept and said: "My Lord! I spare no effort except in what escapes my power."
*Note: Directly asking prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to pray to Allah for rain is allowed. hence he was guided the right way in dream and Umar r.a was aksed to be clever.
Ibn Kathir cites it thus from al-Bayhaqi's Dala'il al-Nubuwwa (7:47) in al-Bidaya wal-Nihaya (Ma`arif ed. 7:91-92=Dar Ihya' al-Turath ed. 7:105) saying: "isnaduhu sahih" and he also declares its chain sound (isnaduhu jayyidun qawi) in his Jami` al-Masanid (1:223) in Musnad `Umar. Ibn Abi Shayba cites it (6:352=12:31-32) with a sound (sahih) chain as confirmed by Ibn Hajar who says: "rawa Ibn Abi Shayba bi'isnadin sahih" and cites the hadith in Fath al-Bari, Book of Istisqa ch. 3 (1989 ed. 2:629-630=1959 ed. 2:495) as well as in al-Isaba (6:164 §8350=3:484) where he says that Ibn Abi Khaythama cited it. It is also thus narrated by al-Khalili in al-Irshad (1:313-314) and Ibn `Abd al-Barr in al-Isti`ab (2:464=3:1149).
Ibn Hajar identifies the man who visited and saw the Prophet, upon him peace, in his dream as the Companion Bilal ibn al-Harith, counting this hadith among the reasons for al-Bukhari's naming of the chapter "The people's request to their leader for rain if they suffer drought" in his Sahih, book of Istisqa'.
Umar ‘s r.a Clever Act
In the year 17 `Umar enlarged the Prophetic mosque. That year there was a drought in the Hijaz. It was named the Year of Cinders (`am al-ramada). `Umar prayed for rain for the people by means of al-`Abbas. Ibn Sa`d narrated from [the Sahabi]
During Umar (RA)'s khilafat, severe drought occurred in Madainah. It was not raining at all. When Sahaba complained with Umar (RA), he took them to the desert and offered Salat-e- Istisqa (prayer for rain) and raised his hands and supplicated as follows. " Ya Allah, when we were suffering from drought, we were supplicating to you with the Waseela of Muhammad (pbuh), then you were giving us rain. But now we don't have our Nabi among us. Now we make the dua of our Nabi's uncle as Waseelah towards you."
Hazrat Umar invited Abbas (RA) and said "Oh Abbas, please make dua with Allah to bestow rain for us". Abbas (RA) stood up and prayed, all others said Aameen behind him, their prayers were acknowledged, and it rained fully.
*Note:Prophet’s uncle was alive, they made him pray for rain, hence its intercession when alive.
Niyar al-Aslami that when `Umar came came out to pray for rain, he came out wearing the cloaks (burd) of the Messenger of Allah, upon him blessings and peace.
Ibn `Awn narrated that `Umar took al-`Abbas's hand and raised it up, saying, 'O Allah, we seek a means to You with the uncle of Your Prophet to ask that You drive away from us the drought and water us with rain'...."
Muhammad (saw) said, "The best period is my period, then the one next to it, then the one next to it." Related by Bukhari and Muslim.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.59 Narrated byAnas
Whenever there was drought, 'Umar bin Al-Khattab used to ask Allah for rain through Al 'Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib, saying, "O Allah! We used to request our Prophet to ask You for rain, and You would give us. Now we request the uncle of our Prophet to ask You for rain, so give us rain." And they would be given rain."
Narrated from Anas by al-Bukhari in his Sahih.
"Whoever understands from this that `Umar only used al-`Abbas as his means and not the Messenger of Allah, upon him peace, because al-`Abbas is alive and the Messenger of Allah is dead - that person's understanding is dead." (Al-Maliki)
Ibn `Awn narrated that `Umar took al-`Abbas's hand and raised it up, saying, 'O Allah, we seek a means to You with the uncle of Your Prophet to ask that You drive away from us the drought and water us with rain'...."
*Note:Asking through means is allowed
"O Allah, truly no tribulation descends except because of sins, nor is lifted except upon repentance. The people have turned to you by means of me BECAUSE OF MY POSITION IN RELATION TO YOUR PROPHET, and here are our hands [raised up] towards you - despite our sins - and our forelocks in repentance, so send down water for us and preserve your Prophet in the person of his uncle." Whereupon the sky let down water as thick as ropes and the people came over to al-`Abbas passing their hands over him and saying to him:
"Congratulations to you, irrigator of the two Sanctuaries!"
Whereupon `Umar said, "He/This is, by Allah, the means to Allah and the place of nearness to Him!"
Cited from al-Zubayr ibn Bakkar's narration in al-Ansab by Ibn Hajar in Fath al-Bari (2:497).
Narrated from Salama ibn al-Akwa` by al-Bukhari and Muslim and from Abu Hurayra by Muslim and Ahmad.
Umar used al-`Abbas to show people the status of the Prophet's family in the society and teach them to respect and venerate them, as Ibn Hajar said in explanation of the report of Anas cited above:
"It is desirable to seek the intercession of saintly people and the relatives of the Prophet sallAllahu `alayhi wa-Alihi wa-Sallam, and it shows al-`Abbas's great merit and that of `Umar due to the latter's humbleness before al-`Abbas and his recognition of his due right."
This is confirmed by al-Ajurri's narration in al-Shari`a and Ahmad in Fada'il al-Sahaba (2:937 #1802) that Ka`b al-Ahbar took al-`Abbas's hand and said, "I shall hide it away [this handshake] for your intercession on my behalf." Al-`Abbas replied: "Why, will I have the power of intercession?"
Ka`b said: "Yes, there is none from the Household of the Prophet, upon him and them peace, except they have the power of intercession!" Ka`b al-Ahbar also said to Sayyidina `Umar:
"Whenever the Israelites had a drought they sought intercession through their Prophet's household" as narrated by Ibn `Abd al-Barr in al-Isti`ab (2:814).
*Note:Power of Intercession when alive on earth.
People Used To Come To Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam And Used To Ask Him To Pray To Allah For Their Needs
The Intercession Of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam
THE HADITH OF THE BLIND MAN
sunan ibn -e-majah vol 2-1383"uthman b. hunaif is reported to have said that a blind person came to the holy prophet {peace be upon him) and sai "pray to Allah for me to save me from worries}he(the holy prophet) said"if you want,i will pray for the hereafter for you while it is a good and if you want ,i shall pray (for you)"He said"pray to him(Allah)"Upon this he commanded him to perform ablution and perform the ablution well and ( then)pray two rakat and invoke (Allah)with this supplication:O Allah ,i beg thee :and i turn my face to thee with Muhammad, the prophet of mercy,o Muhammad i have turned my self with you toward my lord regarding this need of mine so that it is fulfilled.O Allah ,grant his intercession in my favour"
Abu Ishaq said, This is sahih hadith. This is the hadith ,which Tirmidhi transmitted in the chapters on "supplications".It is one of the different ahadith relating to the chapters on "Supplications"and he said "This is hasan sahih gharib hadith.I do not know it but in this respect from the hadith of Abu Jafar.
*Note:Already all the verses are cited above where prophet’s prayer & intention to pray for others is permitted infact commanded. It is Only When Prophet was living on earth.Muslims Turned to Allah through [prophet peace be upon him] when he was alive, the words of supplications do not change
The word used in the Arabic text in ib majah is “Elaika”. i.e. WITH, not `Through’! the word in Tirmidhi are “through” .That is through the intercession of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam. He did interceded and prayed. The words of supplications do not change
nevertheless, due to the highest station of prophet muhammad sall lahu alaihi wa salalm,we present before Allah subhanawatala his highest postion and ask Allah to fulfil needs.because people used to come and ask him to pray for them whne he was alive as well due to his highest station.
AUTHENTICITY OF THE HADITH OF THE BLIND MAN
Tirmidhi has stated that the hadith of the blind man is "a hadith that is well or rigorously authenticated but singular, being unknown except through his chain of narrators, from the hadith of Abu Ja'far, who is not Abu Ja'far Khatmi," which means that the narrators of this hadith, despite Abu Ja'far being unknown to Tirmidhi, were acceptable to the degree of being well or rigorously authenticated in either case.
But scholars before Tirmidhi established that Abu Ja'far, this person unknown to Tirmidhi, was Abu Ja'far Khatmi himself. Ibn Abi Khaythama said: "The name of this Abu Ja'far, whom Hammad ibn Salama relates from, is 'Umayr ibn Yazid, and is the Abu Ja'far that Shu'ba relates from," and then he related the hadith by the channel of transmission of 'Uthman from Shu'ba from Abu Ja'far.
Ibn Taymiya, after relating the hadith of Tirmidhi, said: "All scholars say that he is Abu Ja'far Khatmi, and this is correct."
THE HADITH OF THE MAN IN NEED
Moreover, Tabarani, in his "al-Mu'jam al saghir," reports a hadith from 'Uthman ibn Hunayf that a man repeatedly visited Uthman ibn Affan (Allah be pleased with him) concerning something he needed, but Uthman paid no attention to him or his need. The man met Ibn Hunayf and complained to him about the matter - this being after the death (wisal) of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and after the caliphates of Abu Bakr and Umar - so Uthman ibn Hunayf, who was one of the Companions who collected hadiths and was learned in the religion of Allah, said: "Go to the place of ablution and perform ablution (wudu), then come to the mosque, perform two rak'as of prayer therein, and say:
'O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through our Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy; O Muhammad (Ya Muhammad), I turn through you to my Lord, that He may fulfill my need,' and mention your need. Then come so that I can go with you [to the caliph Uthman]." So the man left and did as he had been told, then went to the door of Uthman ibn Affan (Allah be pleased with him), and the doorman came, took him by the hand, brought him to Uthman ibn Affan, and seated him next to him on a cushion. 'Uthman asked, "What do you need?" and the man mentioned what he wanted, and Uthman accomplished it for him, then he said, "I hadn't remembered your need until just now," adding, "Whenever you need something, just mention it." Then, the man departed, met Uthman ibn Hunayf, and said to him, "May Allah reward you! He didn't see to my need or pay any attention to me until you spoke with him." Uthman ibn Hunayf replied, "By Allah, I didn't speak to him, but I have seen a blind man come to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) and complain to him of the loss of his eyesight. The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, "Can you not bear it?' and the man replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not have anyone to lead me around, and it is a great hardship for me.' The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) told him, 'Go to the place of ablution and perform ablution (wudu), then pray two rak'as of prayer and make the supplications.'" Ibn Hunayf went on, "By Allah, we didn't part company or speak long before the man returned to us as if nothing had ever been wrong with him."
The account has been classified as rigorously authenticated (SAHIH) by Baihaqi, Mundhiri, and Haythami.
*Note: 'O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him,
'O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him,Intercession/Waseela through the rank, postion, status of Prophet salla lahu alaihi wa sallam before Allah.,Words of Supplication do not change
Imam Ahmad and Tawassul:
Al-Mawardi said: "The correct position of the [Hanbali] madhhab is that it ispermissible in one's du`a to use as one's means a pious person, and it is said that it isdesirable (mustahabb). Imam Ahmad said to Abu Bakr al-Marwazi: 'Let him use theProphet as a means in his supplication to Allah.'" (Al-Insaf 2:456)
*Note:Words of Supplication do not change
A PROOF FROM THE COMPANIONS:
Sulaym Ibn ’Aamir al-Khabaa‘iree relates:
“That the sky withheld all rain, so Mu’aawiyah Ibn Abee Sufyaan went out to pray for rain along with the people of Damascus. So when Mu’aawiyah sat upon the pulpit he said: “Where is Yazeed Ibnul-Aswad al-Jurashee?” So the people called him and he came stepping between the people. Then Mu’aawiyah commanded him, so he ascended the pulpit and sat at his feet. Then Mu’aawiyah said: “O Allaah! Today we are asking the best and most noblest amongst us to supplicate to You for us. O Allaah, today we put Yazeed Ibnul-Aswad al-Jurashee forward to supplicate to You for us. O Yazeed! Raise up your hands to Allaah.” So he raised up his hands and the people raised up their hands. Then rain-clouds, like large shields, came quickly from the west, and the winds blew, and it rained so much that people could hardly reach their houses.” Related by Ibn ’Asaakir in Taareekh Dimashq (18/151/1)
So why didn’t ’Umar (radiyallaahu ’anhu) and the rest of the Companions who were with him, go to the grave of our beloved Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam); or to the grave of the greatest of the awliyaa‘ Aboo Bakr (radiyallaahu ’anhu), and make du’aa (supplication) to them for rain? Why? Because they knew that doing so would constitute Shirk? Likewise, why didn't Mu’aawiyah, and those of the righteous people with him, not delegate someone to go to al-Madeenah - to the grave of the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam), or any of the Companions buried there - or directly make du’aa to them from Damascus, in their time of distress and great need? Why? Because they knew that doing so would constitute Shirk!
In Saheeh al-Bukhaari (5568) and Saheeh Muslim (4761) it is narrated that Abu Moosa (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that if someone came with a need to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), he would turn to those who were sitting with him and say, “Intercede, and you will be rewarded, and Allaah will decree what He wills through the lips of His Messenger.”
Hazrat Aaisha narrates: "Rasoolullah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam use to visit Baqee Shareef on late nights and Sarkar Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam prayed there three times raising his Blessed Hands" (Muslim)
*Note:Sent peace on them.
"When ever Hazrat Anas Radi ALLAH Anho use to visit the grave of Syyeduna Rasoolullah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam, He use to stand in a way that he is offering prayer (in real he was not offering the prayer)" (Kitubus Shifa, Vol2)
*Note:He used to pray Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallamDawud ibn Salih said: "[The governor of Madina] Marwan [ibn al-Hakam] one day saw a man placing his face on top of the grave of the Prophet. He said: "Do you know what you are doing?" When he came near him, he realized it was Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. The latter said: "Yes; I came to the Prophet, not to a stone." Narrated by Ahmad (5:422) and al-Hakim in his Mustadrak (4:515 "sahih") cf. al-Subki in Shifa' al-siqam (p. 126) and Ibn Taymiyya in al-Muntaqa (2:261f.).
*Note:Going so close to the grave is allowed.
After The Death Of Fatima (Daughter of Asad)
Anas Ibn Malik Ibn Al-Nadr (radiallahu anhu) reported that when Fatimah the daughter of Assad died, who took care of the Messenger of Allah during the years he spent at his Uncle's home, and she was the mother of Ali bin Abi Talib, he entered her home and sat close to her head and said: May Allah have mercy on you O mother after my mother, and he praised her, and offered his garment to cover her body with it in the grave and ordered to dig a tomb for her. He also dug the tomb and took out the soil by his own hands and then laid down in it and then said: Allah who gives life and takes it and He lives and dies not. Forgive my mother Fatimah the daughter of Asad and grant her ease at her entryway through right of Your Prophet and the Prophets before me for You are the most compassionate.
*Note 1Allah knows best this could mean Ali r.a beloned to the family of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam, hence the family of prophets ,let there be ease for the her ,so grant her ease. With the Waseela of Prophets grant her ease.Allah knows best.
*Note 2: Dress Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 72 :: Hadith 850 Narrated Mu'adh bin Jabal
While I was riding behind the Prophet and between me and him and between me and him there was only the back of the saddle, he said, "0 Mu'adh!" I replied, "Labbaik, 0 Allah's Apostle, and Sa'daik!" he said, "Do you know what is Allah's right upon his slave?" I said, "Allah and His Apostle know best" He said "Allah's right upon his slaves is that they should worship Him alone and not worship anything else besides Him." Then he proceeded for a while and then said, "O Muadh bin Jabal!" I replied, "Labbaik, O Allah's Apostle:, Sa'daik!' He said, "Do you know what is the right of the slaves upon Allah if they do that?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know best." He said, "The right of the slaves upon Allah is that He will not punish them (if they do that)."
*Note:3. There is a differerence of opinion on this, the great scholars Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Abu Yusuf, the two top leaders of the Hanafi Cult:
Bishar-bin-Walid says that Imam Abu Yusuf told him that Imam Abu Hanifa said, “Nobody is allowed to pray to Allah mediating something except His Person and Attributes. And I consider it unlawful that somebody may pray in this manner:
[On account of right of Your creature]. The same was the assertion of Abu Yusuf who said, “I hold it impermissible that one may say,
[On account of right of so and so or On account of right of Your prophets and apostles or Bait-ul-Haram (Ka’ba) or Mashar-ul-Haram].”
Thereafter Qadoori said: “It is not allowed to pray to Allah intermediating right or claim of any of His creatures because not a single creature has any right due on the Creator that He may defray it.
At another place Imam Abu Hanifa said:It is unlawful to say in prayers:
[On account of the right of such and such or of the prophets and apostles] for, no creature has any right on the Creator.”
[Hadaya,vol.IV,pg.459,line3-4]
In another source its quoted as following
Abu Yosuf in Kitàb al-Àthàr–to the use of a specific wording in supplication, namely, “by the right You owe to So-and-so” (bi-haqqi fulàni ‘alayk), or “by the joints of power and glory in Your Throne” (bima ‘àqidal-‘izzmin‘arshik).[1] The reason for this is that, on the one hand, Allàh owes no-one any right whatsoever except what He Himself condescends to state on His part as in the verse [To help believers is incumbent upon Us (haqqun ‘alaynà)](30:47). On the other hand, “by the right owed so-and-so” is an oath and is therefore a formula restricted to Allàh Himself on pains of shirk. Imàm Abu Hanïfa said: “Let one not swear any oath except by Allàh alone, with a pure affirmation of tawhïd and sincerity.”[2] A third reason is that the expression “the joints of power and glory in Your Throne” is a lone-narrator (àhàd) report and is therefore not retained nor put into practice, in accordance with the rule for any such reports that might suggest anthropomorphism. Abu Hanïfa then either he did not deem these hadïths authentic by his standards, or they did not reach him.It is permissible in the Hanafï School to say “by the sanctity/honor of so-and-so in Your presence” (bi-hurmati/bi-jàhi fulàn). This is stated in the Fatàwà Bazzàziyya (6:351 in the margin of the Fatàwà Hindiyya)
Few Instance
First
The report from our Mother `A'isha - Allah be well- pleased with her - in al-Darimi's Sunan, in the 15th Chapter of the Introduction (1:43) titled: "Allah's generosity to His Prophet after his death," related from Aws ibn `Abd Allah with a good chain:
"The people of Madina complained to `A'isha of the severe drought that they were suffering. She said: "Go to the Prophet's grave and open a window towards the sky so that there will be no roof between him and the sky."They did so, after which they were watered with such rain that vegetation grew and the camels got fat. That year was named the Year of Plenty."The reader will find extensive documentation on this report in the Encyclopedia of Islamic Doctrine (4:47-52)
and it was declared authentic by all the Sunni experts of hadith, last in date Shaykh Nabil ibn Hashim al-Ghamri in his 1999 10-volume edition of and commentary on al-Darimi titled Fath al-Mannan (1:564-566) where he rejects the objections of al-Albani and his likes to this hadith
*Note:It obviously that prophet Muhammad is not in need to worldly resources,he needs no water etc.Allah knows best ,the reason could be to bring relief to the land of Prophet’s grave as the land begins to crack due to loss of water.with this all were also blessed.
Second
In his Rijal book Al-Thuqat (8:456:14411), under the entry of Ali bin Musa al-Ridha,Ibn Hibban relates his own account of going to Al-Ridha's grave, performing tawassul through him and states that whenever "I was afflicted with a problem during my stay in Tus, I would visit the grave of Ali bin Musa and ask Allah to relieve me of that problem and it (my dua) would be answered and the problem aleviated. And this is something I did, and found to work, many times ..."
*Note:He would go to grave ,and as the sunnah method would pray Allah to bless the grave occupant and then prayed to Allah to fulfil his need.
Third
al-Hafiz Ibn al-Jawzi relates in Kitab al-Wafa,
Abu Bakr al-Minqari said: I was with (al-hafiz) al-Tabarani and (al-hafiz) Abu al-Shaykh in the Prophet's Mosque, in some difficulty. We became very hungry. That day and the next we didn't eat. When it was time for `isha, I came to the Prophet's grave and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are hungry, we are hungry" (ya rasullallah al-ju` al-ju`)! Then I left. Abu al-Shaykh said to me: Sit. Either there will be food for us, or death. I slept and Abu al-Shaykh slept. al-Tabarani stayed awake, researching something. Then an `Alawi (a descendant of `Ali) came knocking at the door with two boys, each one carrying a palm-leaf basket filled with food. We sat up and ate. We thought that the children would take back the remainder but they left everything behind. When we finished, the `Alawi said: O people, did you complain to the Prophet? I saw him in my sleep and he ordered me to bring something to you.[Al-Hafiz Ibn Jawzi, Kitab al Wafa, Page 818, #1536]
*Note:They addressed Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam and said they were hungry, Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam does hears near his grave ,and by the mercy of Allah they got food.
Giving Importance For Worship To The Places Where Important Things Happend Is Forbidden
Tree
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.481 Narrated byTariq bin Abdur Rahman
When I set out for Hajj, I passed by some people offering a prayer, I asked, "What is this mosque?" They said, "This is the Tree where Allah's Apostle took the Ar-Ridwan Pledge of allegiance." Then I went to Sa'id bin Musaiyab and informed him about it. Said said, "My father said that he was amongst those who had given the Pledge of allegiance to Allah's Apostle beneath the Tree. He (i.e. my father) said, 'When we set out the following year, we forgot the Tree and were unable to recognize it.' " Then Said said (perhaps ironically), "The companions of the Prophet could not recognize it; nevertheless, you do recognize it; therefore you have a better knowledge."
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.480 Narrated bySaid bin Al Musaiyab
That his father said, "I saw the Tree (of the Ar-Ridwan Pledge of allegiance and when I returned to it later, I was not able to recognize it." (The sub-narrator Mehmood said, Al-Musaiyab said, "Then, forgot it (i.e., the Tree)".)
*Note:The Sahabas did’nt preserved the location of the tree for worship or to create mosque.
Accusing Others Of Shirk
Another hadith Hazrat Huzaifa (RA) narrates that the Prophet (SAW) said: “I fear about you about the man who read the Quran so much that the beauty of Quran was visible on his face, … , then he took the sword and accused his neighbor of shirk.” The narrator says that he asked: “O Prophet of Allah (SAW)! Who was near to shirk, the accuser or the accused?” The Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who accused other of shirk!” (Bukhari (in Tarikh-e-Kabir) / Ibn-e-Habban / Buz’zar / Tabarani / Ibn-e-Aasam / Ibn-e-Kathir / Haithmi says that its isnad are Sahih)
*Note:This hadith is about the khawarijites, they cancelled all capital punishments, and they labelled others guilty of shirk.and Allah says in Quran 5:49. . And so judge (you O Muhammad SAW) between them by what Allâh has revealed and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they turn you (O Muhammad SAW) far away from some of that which Allâh has sent down to you. And if they turn away, then know that Allâh's Will is to punish them for some sins of theirs. And truly, most of men are Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh).
Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab) Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 73 :: Hadith 71 Narrated Abu Dhar:
That he heard the Prophet saying, "If somebody accuses another of Fusuq (by calling him 'Fasiq' i.e. a wicked person) or accuses him of Kufr, such an accusation will revert to him (i.e. the accuser) if his companion (the accused) is innocent."
A misconception among few people
in the commentary of the famous Maliki scholar Ahmad Sawi (d. 1241/1825) on the Qur’anic exegesis Tafsir al-Jalalayn of Jalal al-Din Mahalli and Jalal al-Din Suyuti, in which he says of the verse "Truly, the Devil is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy: he only calls his party to become of the inhabitants of the blaze" (Qur’an 35:6): It is said this verse was revealed about the Kharijites [foretelling their appearance], who altered the
interpretation of the Qur’an and sunna, on the strength of which they declared it lawful to kill and take the property of Muslims—as may now be seen in their modern counterparts; namely, a sect in the Hijaz called "Wahhabis," who "think they are on something, truly they are the liars. Satan has gained mastery over them and made them forget Allah’s remembrance. Those are Satan’s party, truly Satan’s party, they are the losers" (Qur’an 58:18–19). We ask Allah Most Generous to extirpate them completely (Sawi: Hashiya al-Sawi ‘ala al-Jalalayn, 3.255).
Calrification
Maliki scholar Ahmad Sawi (d. 1241/1825) gave exegesis on an old Quran commentary ,that wahabis are khawarijites.whereas the sahaba/companions of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam in their period only found out who were khawarijites.
Dealing with Apostates Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 84 :: Hadith 68 Narrated Yusair bin 'Amr:
I asked Sahl bin Hunaif, "Did you hear the Prophet saying anything about Al-Khawarij?" He said, "I heard him saying while pointing his hand towards Iraq. "There will appear in it (i.e, Iraq) some people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, and they will go out from (leave) Islam as an arrow darts through the game's body.' "
I Am Not Afraid That You Will Worship Others Besides Allah
Military Expeditions led by the Prophet (pbuh) (Al-Maghaazi) Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 59 :: Hadith 374 Narrated Uqba bin Amir: Allah's Apostle offered the funeral prayers of the martyrs of Uhud eight years after (their death), as if bidding farewell to the living and the dead, then he ascended the pulpit and said, "I am your predecessor before you, and I am a witness on you, and your promised place to meet me will be Al-Haud (i.e. the Tank) (on the Day of Resurrection), and I am (now) looking at it from this place of mine. I am not afraid that you will worship others besides Allah, but I am afraid that worldly life will tempt you and cause you to compete with each other for it." That was the last look which I cast on Allah's Apostle.
*Note:This means Ummah will never do shirk collectively. They will never do shirk such as take them out of Islam.
Porphet Muhamad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam is Dead
Bukhari :: Book 74 :: Volume 8:: Hadith 281Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:....(We used to recite this in the prayer) during the lifetime of the Prophet , but when he had DIED, we used to say, ala'n-nabiyyi "Peace be on the Prophet."
Masjid Dua
When a person leaves the Masjid, the following du'aa is recorded, `Allaahumma inniy as-aluka bi haqqis-saa-ileena alayka, wa bi haqqi mamshaaya haaza…'. (Translation: Oh Allah, I ask you through the right of those who ask you and through the right of the act of my walking…)
*Note:The right of those are alive muslims who pray ,and through my act of walking in obedience.
In Hereafter Fasting and Quran will intercede
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 1963 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Amr
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Fasting and the Qur'an intercede for a man. Fasting says, 'O my Lord, I have kept him away from his food and his passions by day, so accept my intercession for him.' The Qur'an says, 'I have kept him away from sleep by night, so accept my intercession for him.' Then their intercession is accepted."
Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-Iman.
Sacrifice Done For The Whole Ummah By Prophet
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 4845 Narrated byAisha
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) commanded that a ram with black legs, black belly and black (circles) round the eyes should be brought to him, so that he should sacrifice it. He said to Aisha: Give me the large knife, and then said: Sharpen it on a stone. She did that. He then took it (the knife) and then the ram; he placed it on the ground and then sacrificed it, saying: In the name of Allah, O Allah, accept (this sacrifice) on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and the Ummah of Muhammad".
What Prophet Muhammad Knows
"My entire Ummah was presented before me with each individual's scroll of deeds, good as well as bad." (Muslim Shareef, vol. 1, p. 207; Musnad-i-Ahmad; Ibn-e-Maja)
*Note:Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam saw individual scrolls good and bad to an extent and informed the companions that.
Sayyidina Umar(RA), states "In one Friday sermon, the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) informed us about everything which has happened or will happen from the very beginning of time until the Hereafter when some will inhabit Paradise while the others Hell." (Bukhari Sharif)
For Example Fight With Ali r.a
Excerpts from biography of Ali r.a
……….when he saw Talhah and Zubayr, two close companions of the Prophet, in the midst of the army, he shouted to them to come out to him. They did and Ali said to Talhah:
"O Talhah, have you come with the wife of the Messenger of Allah to fight along with her...?" And to Zubayr he said:
"O Zubayr, I implore you, by God, do you remember the day when the Prophet. peace be on him, passed by you and we were in such and such a place and he asked you: 'Do you love Ali?' and you said: 'Why shouldn't I love my cousin and one who follows my religion...?'"
Thereupon the Prophet of Allah fortold that one day you would fight me for nothing." "Certainly!" replied Zubair, "I now recall the words of the Prophet of Allah."
*Note: So Ali r.a and Zubayr r.a were fortold about fight but not the fight in detail.
Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam Is Informed
"Your deeds are presented to me. If they are good, I express my gratitude to Allah, and if the deeds are not good, then I pray to Allah for your forgiveness".
Haythami transmitted it in Majma'-uz-zawa'id (9:24) and said that that tradition had been
reported by Bazzar (in his Musnad) and its sub-narrators are all of sahih (sound) hadith. 'Iraqihas confirmed the soundness of its chain of transmission in his book Tarh-ut-athrib fi sharh-it-taqrib (3:297). Ibn Sa'd has recorded it in at-Tabaqat-ul-kubra (2:194). Qadi 'Iyad has inscribed this tradiion in ashShifa (1:19); and Suyuti, recording it in al-Khasa'is-ul-kubra (2:281) and Manahil-us-sifa fi takhrij ahadith ash-Shifa (p.3) has commented that Ibn Abi Usamah in his
Musnad has reproduced it through Bakr bin 'Abdullah al-Muzani and Bazzar in his Musnad who have relied on its narration by 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud with a sound chain of transmission. It has been endorsed by Khafaji and Mulla 'Ali Qari in their commentaries on ash-Shifa, i.e. Nasimur-riyad (1:102) and Sharh ash-Shifa (1:36) respectively. Hadith-scholar Ibn-ul-Jawzi has reproduced it in al-Wafa bi-ahwal-il-mustafa (2:809-10) from Bakr bin 'Abdullah and Anas bin
Malik. Subki has copied this tradition in Shifa'-us-siqam fi ziyarat khayr-il-anam (p.34) from Bakr bin 'Abdullah al-Muzani and Ibn 'Abd-ul-Hadi in as-Sarim-ul-munki (p.266-7) has authenticated its veracity. Bazzar's tradition has also been recorded by Ibn Kathir in al-Bidayah wan-nihayah
(4:257). 'Asqalani narrated it through Bakr bin 'Abdullah al-Muzani in al-Matalib-ul-'aliyah (4:223#3853). 'Ali al-Hindi copied Ibn Sa'd's tradition in Kanz-ul-'ummal (11:407#31903) and from Harith (#31904). Nabhani related it in Hujjatullah 'alal'alamin fi mu'jazat sayyid-il-mursalin (p.713).
*Note: Deeds are presented to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam Is itself a proof that he is not omnipresent, nor is he seeing all the deeds from his grave, He is Informed about collective action of Ummah.For-ex Ummah had abandoned Jihad or amongst good deeds , Ummah is following Shariah laws properly etc.He does not know individual deeds.
He Does Not Know Everything Except wht Allah informs him.
Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh)) Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 264
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet delivered a sermon and said, "You (people) will be gathered before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) bare-footed, naked and uncircumcised." (The Prophet then recited):-- 'As We began the first creation We shall repeat it. (It is) a promise We have undertaken and truly We shall do it.' and added, "The first man who will be dressed on the Day of Resurrection, will be Abraham. Lo! Some men from my followers will be brought and taken towards the left side, whereupon I will say, 'O Lord, (these are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You do not know what new things they introduced (into the religion) after you.' I will then say as the righteous pious slave, Jesus, said, 'I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them...(to His Statement)..and You are the Witness to all things.' (5.117) Then it will be said, '(O Muhammad) These people never stopped to apostate since you left them."
5:117. "Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allâh) did command me to say: 'Worship Allâh, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world).
Interceding For Eachother In Matters Of Life
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 9.568 Narrated byAbu Musa
Whenever a beggar or a person in need of something came to the Prophet , he used to say (to his companions), "Intercede (for him) and you will be rewarded for that, and Allah will fulfill what He will through His Apostle's tongue."
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 5113 Narrated byMu'awiyah
Make intercession, you will be rewarded, for I purposely delay a matter so that you intercede and then you are rewarded. The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If you make intercession, you will be rewarded.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 7.206 Narrated byIbn Abbas
Barira's husband was a slave called Mughith, as if I am seeing him now, going behind Barira and weeping with his tears flowing down his beard. The Prophet said to 'Abbas, "O 'Abbas! are you not astonished at the love of Mughith for Barira and the hatred of Barira for Mughith?" The Prophet then said to Barira, "Why don't you return to him?" She said, "O Allah's Apostle! Do you order me to do so?" He said, "No, I only intercede for him." She said, "I am not in need of him."
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 4190 Narrated byJabir ibn Abdullah
A woman from the tribe of Makhzum committed theft. She was brought to Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) and she sought refuge (intercession) from Umm Salamah, the wife of Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him). Thereupon Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: By Allah, even if she were Fatimah, I would have her hand cut off. And thus her hand was cut off..
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 3590 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Umar
Yahya ibn Rashid said: We were sitting waiting for Abdullah ibn Umar who came out to us and sat. He then said: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone's intercession intervenes as an obstacle to one of the punishments prescribed by Allah, he has opposed Allah; if anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.708 Narrated byUrwa bin Az Zubair
'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair was the most beloved person to 'Aisha excluding the Prophet and Abu Bakr, and he in his turn, was the most devoted to her. 'Aisha used not to withhold the money given to her by Allah, but she used to spend it in charity. ('Abdullah) bin Az-Zubair said, " 'Aisha should be stopped from doing so." (When 'Aisha heard this), she said protestingly, "Shall I be stopped from doing so? I vow that I will never talk to 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair." On that, Ibn Az-Zubair asked some people from Quraish and particularly the two uncles of Allah's Apostle to intercede with her, but she refused (to talk to him). Az-Zuhriyun, the uncles of the Prophet, including 'Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Aswad bin 'Abd Yaghuth and Al-Miswar bin Makhrama said to him, "When we ask for the permission to visit her, enter her house along with us (without taking her leave)." He did accordingly (and she accepted their intercession). He sent her ten slaves whom she manumitted as an expiation for (not keeping) her vow. 'Aisha manumitted more slaves for the same purpose till she manumitted forty slaves. She said, "I wish I had specified what I would have done in case of not fulfilling my vow when I made the vow, so that I might have done it easily."
Innovations
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 9.382 Narrated byAbdullah
The best talk (speech) is Allah's Book (Qur'an), and the best way is the way of Muhammad, and the worst matters are the heresies (those new things which are introduced into the religion); and whatever you have been promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape (it).
Evil innovation is sinful
---------------------------
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 168 Narrated byBilal ibn Harith al-Muzani
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: He who revived a Sunnah out of my Sunan, which has died after me, for him is the reward like the reward ofthose who acted upon it, without any decrease in that reward. He who introduced some evil innovation which Allah and His Messenger did not
approve has (a burden of sin upon him) like the sins of one who acted according to it, without their sins being mitigated thereby in the least.
Transmitted by Tirmidhi.
Dont make innovation (in religion)
------------------------------------
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 187 Narrated byGhudayf ibn al-Harith ath-Thumali
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Never did a people make an innovation (in religion) there was withdrawn from them the equal measure of
Sunnah. Adhering to Sunnah is better than making innovations.
Transmitted by Ahmad.
The most evil affairs are their innovation
--------------------------------------------
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 1885 Narrated byJabir ibn Abdullah
When Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) delivered the sermon, his eyes became red, his voice rose, and his anger increased so that he was like one
giving a warning against the enemy and saying: "The enemy has made a morning attack on you and in the evening too." He would also say: "The last Hour and
I have been sent like these two," and he would join his forefinger and middle finger. He would continue: "The best speech is that embodied in the
Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. The most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is an error."
He would add: "I am dearer to a Muslim than even his self. He who has left behind property, that is for his family, and he who dies in debt or leaves
children (in helplessness), the responsibility (of paying his debt and bringing up his children) lies on me."
Dont make innovations after prophet.
----------------------------------------
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 5686 Narrated byUmm Salamah
I used to hear from people making a mention of the Cistern, but I did not hear about it from Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him). One day while a
girl was combing me I heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say:" O people," I said to that girl: Keep away from me. She said: He (the Prophet)
has addressed the men only and he has not invited the attention of the women. I said: I am amongst the people also (and have thus every right to
listen to the things pertaining to religion). Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: I shall be your harbinger on the Cistern; therefore, be
cautious lest one of you should come (to me) and may be driven away like a stray camel. I would ask the reasons, and it would be said to me: You don't
know what innovations they made after you. And I would then also say: Be away.
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 173 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Umar
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Verily my Ummah, or the Ummah of Muhammad, will not agree on error and the hand of Allah is upon the community; he who sets himself apart from it will be set apart in Hell Fire.
Transmitted by Tirmidhi.
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 4718 Narrated byJabir ibn Abdullah
I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: A group of people from my Ummah will continue to fight in defence of truth and remain triumphant until the Day of Judgment.
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 4565 Narrated byArfajah
I have heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Different evils will make their appearance in the near future. Anyone who tries to disrupt the affairs of this Ummah while they are united you should strike him with the sword whoever he be. (If remonstrance does not prevail with him and he does not desist from his disruptive activities, he is to be killed).
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 6154 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The best age of my Ummah is one in which I was sent (by Allah as an Apostle), then the one next to that. (The narrator said): And Allah knows best whether he stated this third (time) or not. Then there would come people who would love (to look) bulky and they would hasten to the witness box before they are asked to bear witness.
Misconceptions
Can the dead hear?
It’s a misconception that dead can’t hear.
The dead can hear near their graves. That is their audible limit. That is why the one who goes to graves to send blessings and salutations are called visitors.
Military Expeditions led by the Prophet (pbuh) (Al-Maghaazi) ,Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 59 :: Hadith 314 Narrated Abu Talha
: On the day of Badr, the Prophet ordered that the corpses of twenty four leaders of Quraish should be thrown into one of the dirty dry wells of Badr. (It was a habit of the Prophet that whenever he conquered some people, he used to stay at the battle-field for three nights. So, on the third day of the battle of Badr, he ordered that his she-camel be saddled, then he set out, and his companions followed him saying among themselves." "Definitely he (i.e. the Prophet) is proceeding for some great purpose." When he halted at the edge of the well, he addressed the corpses of the Quraish infidels by their names and their fathers' names, "O so-and-so, son of so-and-so and O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Would it have pleased you if you had obeyed Allah and His Apostle? We have found true what our Lord promised us. Have you too found true what your Lord promised you? "'Umar said, "O Allah's Apostle! You are speaking to bodies that have no souls!" Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, you do not hear, what I say better than they do." (Qatada said, "Allah brought them to life (again) to let them hear him, to reprimand them and slight them and take revenge over them and caused them to feel remorseful and regretful.")
Amr bin Aas (r.a) said. When you bury me, fill my grave well with earth, then stand around it for the time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may enjoy your intimacy and (in your company) ascertain what answer I can give to the messengers (angels) of Allah.[Sahih Muslim #220]
*Note:To enjoy the company of companions as they will be praying for him,and the dead Sahaba may ascertain what he has to answer to the angels.
Volume 2, Book 23, Number 456:(Sahih Bukhari)
Narrated Anas bin Malik:Allah's Apostle said, "When (Allah's) slave is put in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps
*Note:The dead can hear near their graves,They cannot hear from far off places because Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said, when Blessing are sent on him angels CONVEY those blessing to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon .
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 924 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Mas'ud
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: There is a mobile (squads) of Angels on Earth convey to me the blessings invoked upon me by my Ummah.

Visiting Graveyard And Praying For The Forgiveness Of The Dead And Along With That To Make The Dead Hear One Needs To Graves
Book 004, Number 2127:(Sahih Muslim)
Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was 'A'isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi'. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'A'isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep, and I did not like to awaken you, fearing that you may be frightened. He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi' (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.
Intercession of Prophet (saw) was always usedBi Haqqi Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam), for the sake of Muhammad, this term had even given victory to Jews as Quran attests in its beautiful wordsAnd when there comes to them a Book from God, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of God is on those without Faith.(2:89)Ibn Qayyim in his book al-Jami` al-Fareed, page 493, comments on the following hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (r):"in the time before the Prophet (saws) the Jews of Khaybar were fighting with the Ghatfaan tribe. When the battle ended the Jews were defeated. They prayed to Allah asking Him, 'for the sake of Muhammad (bi haqqi Muhammad), the Prophet whom you are sending in the last days, make us defeat this tribe." When they met again with Ghatfaan they defeated them. Allah mentioned that event in the Qur'an when He said: "From of old they had prayed for victory against the unbelievers" (Baqara, 89), which means they [the Jews] were asking for your sake, O Muhammad, to defeat the unbelievers." Imam ibn Jareer Tabri(rah) writes that the Jews also made this Du'a: "O Allah! Send down that a Prophet who will make justice between us and the people and those people used to gain victory and help against the others through his mediation." (Tafseer ibn Jareer) Imam Qurtubi also proves it with words: Ina Nas'aluka Bihaq an Nabi al Ummi (We ask you for the sake of Nabi al Ummi) [Tafsir al Qurtubi 2:27]Allama Aloosi also narrates this in his Tafsir Rul al Ma'ani (1:320)Imam Fakhr al Razi (rah) also mentions it in his Tafsir l Kabir (3:180)Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti as: 'God, give us assistance against them through the Prophet that shall be sent at the end of time'[http://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=1&tTafsirNo=74&tSoraNo=2&tAyahNo=89&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0]
Two Verses Of Quran
These two verses are for non-muslims and cannot be taken for muslims even if they are practisting intercession from grave occupants
35:22 “Nor are alike those that are living and those that are dead. Allah can make any that He wills to hear; but you cannot make those to hear who are (buried) in graves”.
30:52 “For verily you (Muhammad) cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the call when they have turned to flee”.
Tafsir on these two verses by Ibn Kathir.
Bukhari relates from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (Allah be well pleased with him) "Ibn `Umar considered the Khawarij and the heretics as the worst beings in creation, and he said: They went to verses which were revealed about the disbelievers and applied them to the Believers.
Allah knows best.
Allama Alusi, author of the exegesis (Tafseer) Rooh-ul-Ma’ni has argued this issue at length and has written:"To request to somebody and mediating him in such a manner that he may pray for you is undoubtedly allowed provided the person being so requested is alive. On the contrary not a single scholar doubts inadmissibility of the prayers asked to be made by any absent and dead. This is such heresy not any fore-gone committed it. Who can be much eager to earn virtues than the Companions (r.a.) of the Prophet (s.a.w.) but not any of them is reported to have ever demanded something from the engraved." [Tafsir Rooh-ul-Ma’ni vol.VI,pg.125]
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as a source of intermediation for JewsAnd when there came to them a Book from Allah verifying that which they have, and aforetime they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieve, but when there came to them (Prophet) that which they did not recognize, they disbelieved in him; so Allah's curse is on the unbelievers.(Al-Quran, 2:89)The Qur’ānic verse explains that the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), through whom the Jews used to pray to gain victory over the Arab disbelievers, they rejected him when he physically appeared among them. They rejected him on the basis of prejudice and enmity though they possessed complete knowledge of his identity from the signs of his arrival. Since their rejection of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was based on deliberate arrogance, Allah cursed them as an instant expression of the divine displeasure:Qazi Thana'ullah pani patti, He says that the Jews prayed for victory over disbelievers:That is, they prayed for victory over the Arab polytheists and they used to say: O Allah, give us victory over them through the mediation of the last Prophet whom we find mentioned in our Book Torah.(at-Tafsir ul Mazhari), 1:94.Imam Sayuti, He narrates a traditions on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbās:The Jews of Banū Qurayzah and Banū Nadīr used to pray for victory over the disbelievers and the infidels before the Prophethood of Muhammad. They said: O Allah, bless us with victory through the mediation of the Unlettered Prophet, and they were blessed with victory.[ad-Durr-ul-manthur (1:88)]

Copied below is an excerpt from Tafsir Ibn Kathir:Before this Messenger came to them, they used to ask Allah to aid them by his arrival, against their polytheistic enemies in war. They used to say to the polytheists, "A Prophet shall be sent just before the end of this world and we, along with him, shall exterminate you, just as the nations of `Ad and Iram were exterminated.'' Also, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated that Ibn `Abbas said, "The Jews used to invoke Allah (for the coming of Muhammad ) in order to gain victory over the Aws and Khazraj, before the Prophet was sent. When Allah sent him to the Arabs, they rejected him and denied what they used to say about him. Hence, Mu`adh bin Jabal and Bishr bin Al-Bara' bin Ma`rur, from Bani Salamah, said to them, `O Jews! Fear Allah and embrace Islam. You used to invoke Allah for the coming of Muhammad when we were still disbelievers and you used to tell us that he would come and describe him to us,' Salam bin Mushkim from Bani An-Nadir replied, `He did not bring anything that we recognize. He is not the Prophet we told you about.' Allah then revealed this Ayah about their statement, And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur'an) from Allah confirming what is with them (the Tawrah) and the Injil (Gospel)).'''Abu Al-`Aliyah said, "The Jews used to ask Allah to send Muhammad so that they would gain victory over the Arab disbelievers. They used to say, `O Allah! Send the Prophet that we read about - in the Tawrah - so that we can torment and kill the disbelievers alongside him.' When Allah sent Muhammad and they saw that he was not one of them, they rejected him and envied the Arabs, even though they knew that he was the Messenger of Allah. Hence, Allah said,(Then when there came to them that which they had recognized, they disbelieved in it. So let the curse of Allah be on the disbelievers). ''
