Allah's Promise To Protect Quran Includes Protection Of Hadith As Well

In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatahu

Allah's promise to protect Quran includes the protection of Hadith as well.

The Qur'an

The Qur'an can be defined as follows:

The speech of Allah, sent down upon the last Prophet Muhammad, through the Angel Gabriel, in its precise meaning and precise wording, transmitted to us
by numerous persons (tawatur), both verbally and in writing. Inimitable and unique, protected by God from corruption.

Quran is also called as:
Furqaan -criterion, 25: 1Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion to His servant that it may be an admonition to all creatures
Tanzil -sent down, 26: 192Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of theWorlds:
Dhikr -reminder, 15: 9 We have without doubt sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
Kitab -scripture, 21:10 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand?

Other references to the Qur'an are by such words as Nur (light), Huda (guidance), Rahma (mercy), Majid (glorious), Mubarak (blessed), Bashir
(announcer), Nadhir (warner), etc.

The word Qur'an

The Arabic word 'qur'an' is derived from the root qara'a, which has various meanings, such as to read, [Sura 17: 93."Or thou have a house adorned with
gold or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could
read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! am I aught but a man an apostle?" ]

To recite, [Sura 75:18 But when We have promulgated it follow thou its recital (as promulgated):

17: 46 And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should understand the Qur'an and deafness into their ears: when thou dost
commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an they turn on their backs fleeing (from the Truth).] etc. Qur'an is a verbal noun and hence means the
'reading' or 'recitation'. As used in the Qur'an itself, the word refers to the revelation from Allah in the broad sense .
[Sura 17: 82 We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing
but loss after loss.] and is not always restricted to the written form in the shape of a book, as we have it before us today.

However, it means revelation to Muhammad only, while revelation to other prophets has been referred to by different names (e.g. taurat, Injil, kitab,etc.).

Surah An-Nisaa 4:113 But for the Grace of Allah to thee and His Mercy a party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in
fact) they will only lead their own souls astray and to thee they can do no harm in the least. For Allah hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and
taught thee what thou knewest not (before); and great is the grace of Allah unto thee.

Had not the Grace of Allâh and His Mercy been upon you (O Muhammad ), a party of them would certainly have made a decision to mislead you, but (in
fact) they mislead none except their own selves, and no harm can they do to you in the least. Allâh has sent down to you the Book (The Qur’ân), and
Al-Hikmah (Quranic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things i.e. the Prophet’s Sunnah - legal ways in detail), and taught you that which you knew
not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allâh unto you (O Muhammad salle ala hu alai hi wa sallim)

In the Above Ayaah by pairing al-Kitaab (the Book) and al-Hikmah (the Wisdom) it has been pointed out that Hikmah which is the name of Sunnah
and/or teachings of Prophet Muhammad salle ala hu alai hi wa sallim was also sent down by none but Allaah (SWT). The difference is that its words are not
from Allaah and that is why they are not part of Glorious Qur’aan. But, its meanings and that of the Qur’aan are certainly from Allaah, therefore, it is
obligatory to act in accordance with both.Quran is wise book is already mentined
2:1 Alif Lam Mim.
2 These are Verses of the Wise Book,

It is for Allah subhanawatala to collect it.

75:16 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.
17 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:
18 But when We have promulgated it follow thou its recital (as promulgated):
19 Nay more it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):

Book & wisdom is Quran & Hadith ,hadith comes under wisdom for hadith has explanation of laws.
3:79 It is not (possible) that a man to whom is given the Book and Wisdom and the prophetic office should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather
than Allah's; on the contrary (he would say): "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all for ye have taught the Book and ye have
studied it earnestly."

Allah subhanawatala has taken the responsibility to guar it.

15:9 We have without doubt sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).

The unbelievers call stories of men[also prophets] as fables [false improbable account].This is their self confession that Quran was written down.
25:5 And they say: Fables of the men of old which he hath had written down so that they are dictated to him morn and evening.[And they say: Fables of
the men of old which he hath had written down so that they are dictated to him morn and evening(another translation by pickthall)
Prophet muhammad pbuh was illiterate hence he neither wrote nor read.So he had it written down by his companions and they r dictated to him by angel
Gabriel alai salaam.

Importance of writing in Islam.
96:4 Who teacheth by the pen,
5 Teacheth man that which be knew not.

*Quran is called a Book.Hence it was written down.Hadith contains its commentary and many ordinances hence it was also writen down.

3:7 He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations--They are the substance of the Book--and others (which
are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it.
None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only
men of understanding really heed.

5:15 O People of the Book! there hath come to you Our Apostle revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book and passing over much (that is now
unnecessary): There hath come to you from Allah a (new) Light and a perspicuous Book.

* Torah was written down and so was Quran and hadith.
46:12 When before it there was the Scripture of Moses, an example and a mercy; and this is a confirming Scripture in the Arabic language, that it
may warn those who do wrong and bring good tidings for the righteous.

proof of Torah was written down by moses,as he was literate.7:150When Moses came back to his people angry and grieved he said: "evil it is that ye have
done in my place in my absence: did ye make haste to bring on the judgment of your Lord?" He put down the tablets seized his brother by (the hair of)
his head and dragged him to him. Aaron said: "son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught and went near to slaying me! make not the
enemies rejoice over my misfortune nor count thou me amongst the people of sin." [HE PUT DOWN THE TABLETS]

*The unbelievers asked an actual book to decend, not the one which was written down in stages.

4:153 The People of the Scripture ask of thee that thou shouldst cause an (actual) Book to descend upon them from heaven. They asked a greater thing
of Moses aforetime, for they said: Show us Allah plainly. The storm of lightning seized them for their wickedness. Then (even after that) they
chose the calf (for worship) after clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) had come unto them. And We forgave them that! And We bestowed on Moses evident
authority.

*Quran gives fuller explanation, hence the various law of prayers, hajj, zakat percentage, sawm, prohibited months, capital punishmnets in details, details of
purification, adhan, etc are not in Quran, but in hadith, thus 4:80 obeying Apostle is obeying Allah means follow hadith as it is protected by Allah
subhanawatala. For fuller explanation covers hadith as well.

10:37 This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it and a
fuller explanation of the Book wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the Worlds.

Few refutations

1.
1.By misunderstanding the below verses from 80:1 to 80:16,few muslims think these verses mentions the writing .

80:1 The (Prophet) frowned and turned away.
2 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting).
3 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might Grow (in spiritual understanding)?
4 Or that he might receive admonition and the teaching might profit him?
5 As to one who regards himself as self-sufficient
6To him dost thou attend;
7Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding).
8 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly
9 And with fear (in his heart)
10 Of him wast thou unmindful.
11 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction:
12Therefore let who will keep it in remembrance.
13 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honor.[On honored leaves]
14 Exalted (in dignity) kept pure and holy[Exalted, purified]
15 (Written) by the hands of scribes
16 Honorable and Pious and Just.

Now ,if carefully read,Prophet [pbuh] frowned and turned away,as a blind muslim man came to seek knowledge of message[Quran].And a Pagan Quraish leader,
whom the holy Prophet was anxious to get into his fold, in order that the work of preaching Allah's Message might be facilitated. But such a Message
works first amongst the simple and lowly, the poor and despised folk, and the mighty ones of the earth only come in when the stream rushes in with
irresistible force.Allah's Message is for all, but if the great ones arrogantly keep back from it, it is no fault of the preacher, so long as he
has proclaimed the Message. He should attend to all, and specially to the humble and lowly......prophet was unmindful of this blind man at that
moment,By no means should it be so,Quran is a message of instruction,so memorise it whoever wills as such. Now verses speaks about Quran being among the books held in honour Luh –E-Mahfuz ,exalted & purified ,written by the hands of scribes [Angels] as Angels do a lot of things commanded by Allah subhanawatala.

They write down deeds ,they wrote Quran on honoured leaves near Allah subhanawatala.

50:17 Behold two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and note them) one sitting on the right and one on the left.

80:16 SAYS Honorable and Pious and Just. These are the qualities of Angels mentioned in Quran.& alos they are not proud etc.
16:49 And unto Allah maketh prostration whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth of living creatures, and the angels (also), and
they are not proud.

2: Refutation:
The verse 56:77 says, this is indeed Quran most honorable and verse 78 says,"in a book well guarded. So the book Quran is preserved in a book well
guarded book.Which only angels can touch. The verse cannot be taken for Quran present on earth as Quran is not always guarded, some times it falls from
hands, some times goes into hands of unbelievers, some timesgoes through mistreatment by ignorant people also.

56:75 Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars 76 And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew
77 That this is indeed a Qur'an most honorable
78:In a Book well-guarded[In a Book kept hidden]
79 Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
80 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

Now coming back to the main topic of Quran being written down during prophet’s time, so was hadith.Because the explanation in detail of Islam covers various issues present in Hadith thus everything got written down.

2:151 A similar (favor have ye already received) in that We have sent among you an Apostle of your own rehearsing to you Our signs and sanctifying you
and instructing you in Scripture and wisdom and in new Knowledge.

conclusion
-----------
Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him followed Quran and sunnah(taught by Allah through gabriel alai salaam)all the five pillars of faith are incomplete
without the involvement of sunnah.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.450 Narrated byMusa bin Abi Aisha
That he asked Said bin Jubair regarding (the statement of Allah): "Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith." He said, "Ibn
'Abbas said that the Prophet used to move his lips when the Divine Inspiration was being revealed to him. So the Prophet was ordered not to
move his tongue, which he used to do, lest some words should escape his memory. 'It is for Us to collect it' means, 'We will collect it in your
chest;' and 'its recitation' means, 'We will make you recite it.' 'But when We recite it (i.e. when it is revealed to you), follow its recital; it is
for Us to explain it and make it clear,' (i.e. We will explain it through your tongue).

*Though the prophet was illiterate ,he dictated Quran to the companions who wrote it.He also used to verify what they're writing by asking them what
they had written, when they used to recite after writing ,then the prophet used to confirm it.
62:2 It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered an apostle from among themselves to rehearse to them His Signs to sanctify them and to instruct
them in Scripture and Wisdom although they had been before in manifest error

29:48 And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have
doubted, who follow falsehood.

Book of the many Prophets 6:91, 53:36,87:19 .

22 years, 5 months and 14 days. The complete Qur’an, along with the correct sequence of the verses, was present during the time of the Prophet (pbuh).
The verses however, were written on separate pieces, scrapes of leather, thin flat stones, leaflets, palm branches, shoulder blades, etc. After the
demise of the prophet, Abu Bakr (r.a.), the first caliph of Islam ordered that the Qur’an be copied from the various different materials on to a
common material and place, which was in the shape of sheets. These were tied with strings so that nothing of the compilation was lost.

*This is how they started writing Hadith.Though initially it was not allowed but later it was allowed as per commandments of prophet Muhammad pbuh, masses
were not allowed to write down Quran nor hadith but only classes for the fear of any mischief.

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 3639 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As
I used to write everything which I heard from the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him). I intended (by it) to memorise it. The Quraysh prohibited me
saying: Do you write everything that you hear from him while the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) is a human being: he speaks in anger and pleasure?
So I stopped writing, and mentioned it to the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him). He signalled with his finger to him mouth and said: Write, by Him
in Whose hand my soul lies, only right comes out from it.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 8.480 Narrated byWarrad
(the clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba) Muawiya wrote to Al-Mughira: "Write to me a narration you have heard from Allah's Apostle." So Al-Mughira wrote to
him, "I heard him saying the following after each prayer: 'La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahuI-hamd, wa huwa 'ala
kulli Shai-in qadir.' He also used to forbid idle talk, asking too many questions (in religion), wasting money, preventing what should be given, and
asking others for something (except in great need), being undutiful to mothers, and burying one's little daughters (alive)."

*Finally,to sum up everything, its clear that Quran was written down,so was hadith, had hadith not been written then it wud be just like saying that
half of the deen was saved in writing and half was not,ex:prayer is commanded in quran and method not saved in hadith. But its not true,Allah
subhanawatala's promise to protect Quran includes the protection of Hadith as well.

5:3 ..........This day have I perfected your religion for you completed my favor upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any
forced by hunger with no inclination to transgression Allah is indeed Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.

The hadith collections sihah-sitta,the six authentic books of hadith are considered authentic since centuries by majority of muslims.

The weak hadith is considered as weak & strong hadith as strong, that is how hadith has been protected. So believe in strong hadith & believe in weak hadith if appropriate by remembering it as weak.

Allah knows best.
